John Worsdale
John Worsdale (29 October 1948 – 22 September 2017) was a association football, footballer who played in the Football League for Lincoln City F.C., Lincoln City and Stoke City F.C., Stoke City. Career Worsdale started his career at his local club Stoke City after coming through the youth ranks at the Victoria Ground. He made his professional debut for Stoke in an away match against Arsenal F.C., Arsenal in September 1968. He made just three more appearances for the "Potters" during the 1968–69 Stoke City F.C. season, 1968–69 season before being released at the end of it. He joined Lincoln City F.C., Lincoln City and spent four years with the "Imps" making 67 league appearances and scoring nine goals before dropping into non-league football with Worksop Town F.C., Worksop Town. Football League Fourth Division
The Football League Fourth Division was the fourth-highest division in the English football league system from the 1958–59 season until the creation of the Premier League prior to the 1992–93 season. Whilst the division disappeared in name in 1992, the 4th tier of English football continued as the Football League Third Division, and later became known as Football League Two. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders.
