John Wittenberg
John Wittenberg (2 October 1939 – 3 November 2005) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer. A front-row forward with the St. George Dragons, he was a representative in the Australian national team in 1966 and from 1968 to 1970 earning six Test caps. Playing career Wittenberg was from Wide Bay, Queensland and played for Toowoomba, the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls and in the Central Queensland town of Theodore in the early and mid sixties from which clubs he represented for Queensland and Australia. The Queensland Rugby League attempted to block his transfer to Sydney in 1967 forcing him to sit out the 1967 season and causing him to miss selection for the 1967 Kangaroo Tour. He played 53 games for the St. George Dragons from 1968 to 1970 representing for New South Wales and regaining Australian representative selection during that time. Queensland Rugby League
The Queensland Rugby Football League QRL Constitution, 2009: 3 (QRL QRL Constitution, 2009: 2) is the governing body for rugby league in Queensland. It is a member of the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARL Commission) and selects the members of the Queensland rugby league team. The QRL aims to "foster, develop, extend, govern and control Rugby League Football throughout the State of Queensland". Today the QRL administers the rugby league through its regional divisions. Jeff Wittenberg (born 19 March 1973) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in England and Australia. His father, John, was an Australian international. Playing career Wittenberg began his career playing for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, a club who his father had also represented. In 1993 he signed with the St. George Dragons, another of his fathers former clubs.
