Sir John St John, 1st Baronet
Sir John St John, 1st Baronet (5 November 1585 – 1648) of Lydiard Tregoze in the English county of Wiltshire, was a Member of Parliament and prominent Royalist during the English Civil War. He was created a baronet on 22 May 1611. Biography St John was the second son of Sir John St John (d. 1594) of Lydiard Tregoze and his wife Lucy, the daughter of Sir Walter Hungerford. Upon his father's death in 1594, most of the family estates, in Wiltshire, went to his elder brother Walter; John received the manor of Garsington, Oxfordshire, and was promised £200 when he came of age. He was first placed in the guardianship of a distant relative, John St John, 2nd Baron St John of Bletso, but Lord St John died in 1596, and guardianship then passed to John's uncle, Sir Oliver St John. Sir Oliver arranged for John's education: he matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford, on 3 April 1601 and was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1604. John St John (died 1793)
The Honorable John St John (c.1746–1793) was an English MP and surveyor general of Crown lands. He was born the son of John St John, 2nd Viscount St John and brother of Henry St John, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge. He studied law at Lincoln's Inn in 1765 and the Middle Temple in 1767, being called to the bar in 1770. He was elected Member of Parliament for Newport, IoW in 1773 and for Eye in 1774. In 1775 he was appointed to the well paid post of Surveyor General of the Land Revenues of the Crown. In 1780 he was elected both for Newport and for Midhurst but chose to sit a second time for Newport. He wrote a play, ''Mary Queen of Scots'' which was produced in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 1789 with the lead roles performed by John Philip Kemble and Sarah Siddons. John St John, 2nd Baron St John of Bletso (died 1596) was an English peer. The son of Oliver St John, 1st Baron St John of Bletso, and Agnes Fisher, he succeeded to the barony upon his father's death in 1582. Retrieved on 2 January 2009. John St John was M.P. for Bedfordshire from 1563 to 1567. In January 1585 he was appointed the keeper of Mary, Queen of Scots, at Tutbury Castle. John was reluctant to accept the commission and argued at length with Lord Burghley before accepting, but in 1586 was one of the peers who judged her guilty. He was Lord Lieutenant of Huntingdonshire from about 1587 until his death. St John married, about 1575, Katherine Dormer, daughter of Sir William Dormer of Wing, Buckinghamshire, by his second wife, Dorothy Catesby, and died on 23 October 1596 without male heirs. Sounds Incorporated, first recorded as Sounds Inc., was a British instrumental pop/rock group which recorded extensively in the 1960s. Career Sounds Incorporated formed in early 1961, in Dartford, Kent, and gained a reputation in nearby South London for the fullness of their saxophone-led instrumental sound. In August 1961, after Gene Vincent's band, The Blue Caps, had been denied permission to work in the UK, Sounds Incorporated won the opportunity to back Vincent on his British tour and on recordings in London. This led to further opportunities to back other visiting American artists, including Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Brenda Lee and Sam Cooke. Their only record with Parlophone, "Mogambo", failed to achieve significant sales. The band then moved to Decca, where they released a trio of singles, the last of which was recorded with producer Joe Meek, again with little success. John St John of Northwood, 12th Baron St John of Bletso (15 November 1725 – 20 April 1767) was a British peer. St John was the eldest son of John St John, 11th Baron St John of Bletso and his wife Elizabeth Crowley, daughter of Sir Ambrose Crowley of Greenwich. He was educated at Winchester College and at New College, Oxford. He inherited the title of Baron St John of Bletso on the death of his father in 1757. St John died at the age of 41 at Nice but was buried at Bletsoe. St John married 13 December 1755 to Susanne Louise Simond, the daughter of Peter Simond, a wealthy French Huguenot merchant in London. John "Ian" St John (; 7 June 1938 – 1 March 2021) was a Scottish professional football player, coach and broadcaster. St John played as a forward for Liverpool throughout most of the 1960s. Signed by Bill Shankly in 1961, St John was a key member of the Liverpool team that emerged from the second tier of English football to win two league titles and one FA Cup—in which he scored the winner in the 1965 final—to cement a position as one of the country's top sides. He played for Scotland 21 times, scoring nine goals. He later became a manager – including at his hometown team Motherwell where he had begun his playing career – and a media pundit.
