John Smith (rugby Union, Born 1926)
John Hartley Smith (27 July 1926 — 1 November 2006) was an Irish international rugby union player. Born in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, Smith was educated at Methodist College Belfast and Queen's University Belfast, where he attained a medical degree. He played rugby for Collegians (Belfast), Collegians, London Irish, Queen's University RFC and Ulster. Smith won 12 Ireland national rugby union team, Ireland caps as a prop, playing all matches in their title-winning 1951 Five Nations campaign. Married to a Canadian, Smith immigrated to Vancouver and held high-ranking positions in the British Columbia Ministry of Health (British Columbia), Ministry of Health, while remaining involved in rugby as an administrator. Dungannon
Dungannon (, ) is a town in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is the second-largest town in the county (after Omagh) and had a population of 16,282 at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2021 Census. The Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council had its headquarters in the town, though since 2015 the area has been covered by Mid-Ulster District Council. For centuries, it was the 'capital' of the O'Neill dynasty of Tír Eoghain, who dominated most of Ulster and built a castle on the hill. After the O'Neills' defeat in the Nine Years' War (Ireland), Nine Years' War, the English founded a Plantation of Ireland, plantation town on the site, which grew into what is now Dungannon. Collegians are an Australian rugby league football team based in Wollongong. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and compete in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership. Originally known as CBC Old Boys, the club was founded in 1933. The Brothers Club was then admitted to the Illawarra 1st Grade competition in 1938. In 2013 Collegians moved to the newly redeveloped former derelict site Lysaghts Oval, Figtree, complete with a 1,250 seat grandstand and new amenities. Collegians wear red and black jerseys and have won 9 minor premierships and 12 premierships.
