Collegians (Belfast) Rugby Union Players
Collegians are an Australian rugby league football team based in Wollongong. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and compete in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership. Originally known as CBC Old Boys, the club was founded in 1933. The Brothers Club was then admitted to the Illawarra 1st Grade competition in 1938. In 2013 Collegians moved to the newly redeveloped former derelict site Lysaghts Oval, Figtree, complete with a 1,250 seat grandstand and new amenities. Collegians wear red and black jerseys and have won 9 minor premierships and 12 premierships. The Collegians Leagues club is a thriving club in North Wollongong, with the club also operating leagues clubs in Balgownie, Figtree and in the old Illawarra Leagues Club in the Wollongong CBD. Collegians are an Australian rugby league football team based in Wollongong. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and compete in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership. Michael Bolt (born 6 February 1961) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played in the NSWRL Premiership for the Illawarra Steelers, as a . Bolt was the first Illawarra player to take the field as captain of the club's inaugural third-grade team in 1982Middleton, David (editor); ''Rugby League 1990-91'', p. 121 after having been recruited from Wollongong's Collegians club. However, when first-choice rake Barry Jensen suffered a neck injury, Bolt took over as first-grade hooker ahead of expected replacement Sean O‘Connor, and he became the Steelers’ permanent top rake when a recurrence of Jensen's neck injury caused his retirement in July of that season. The Western Suburbs Red Devils (Wests Illawarra, Wests Wollongong, Wests Red Devils or simply Wests Devils) are an Australian rugby league football team based in Figtree. The Helensburgh Tigers are an Australian rugby league football team based in Helensburgh, a country town of the Illawarra region. The Dapto Canaries are an Australian rugby league football team based in the Wollongong suburb of Dapto. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and have competed in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership since its inception in 1911. History, colours and emblem The Dapto Canaries were established in 1911 and are one of five founding clubs of the Illawarra Rugby League. However, it took the Canaries many decades to win their first title in 1966, and they have been strong competitors ever since. Ron Costello
Ron Costello (born 1942) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played for the Western Suburbs Magpies, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, New South Wales and for the Australian national side. From Shellharbour on the South Coast of New South Wales, Costello went to Shellharbour Public School (1948–1954), and then went to the Western Suburbs Magpies in Sydney and played lower grades in 1964-1965. He was signed by Collegians Wollongong RLFC (Illawarra Division) in 1967 by then coach Kevin Smyth (a former Kangaroo 1963). Collegians won the Club Championship and First Grade Premiership that season with Costello representing New South Wales.
