John L. Simon, better known as Jack Simon, is an American national swimming coach and former president of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). American Swimming Coaches Association
The American Swimming Coaches Association, or ASCA, is a professional organization for Swimming coaches in the USA. It was founded in 1958 and is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. ASCA provides education opportunities for swimming coaches, including running and participating at clinics both within and outside the USA. Honors and awards Hall of Fame ASCA annually inducts selected coaches into its own Hall of Fame, as part of the annual ASCA World Clinic. Joe Hudepohl
Joseph Bernard Hudepohl (born November 16, 1973) is an American former competition swimmer, three-time Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder. Early years Hudepohl is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was raised in the suburb of Finneytown. He is a 1992 alumnus of Saint Xavier High School in Cincinnati and graduated from Stanford University in 1997. Swimming accomplishments Joe Hudepohl was the youngest member of the 1992 United States swimming team that competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. He won a gold medal as a member of the victorious 400-meter freestyle relay team, and earned a bronze medal as part of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay team. Hudepohl also represented the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where he won a gold medal as a member of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay team. David Charles "Dave" Berkoff (born November 30, 1966) is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in two events. Berkoff was a backstroke specialist who won a total of four Olympic medals during his career at two different Olympic Games. He is best known for his powerful underwater start, the eponymous "Berkoff Blastoff". At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, he won a gold medal by swimming the backstroke leg for the winning U.S. men's team in the men's 4×100-meter medley relay in the event final. Individually, he also won a silver medal by placing second in the men's 100-meter backstroke event. Four years later at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, Berkoff earned another gold medal by swimming for the winning U.S. team in the preliminary heats of the men's 4×100-meter medley relay.
