John J. Muth
Jon J Muth (; born July 28, 1960) is an American writer and illustrator of children's books as well as graphic novels and comic books. Career Muth studied stone sculpture and ''shodō'' ( 書道) (brush calligraphy) in Japan; and studied painting, printmaking, and drawing in England, Austria, and Germany. In the comics industry, his works include J. M. DeMatteis' graphic novel '' Moonshadow'', Grant Morrison's ''The Mystery Play'', Neil Gaiman's '' The Sandman: The Wake'' with Michael Zulli and Charles Vess, Mike Carey's '' Lucifer: Nirvana'' and '' Swamp Thing: Roots''. He worked with writers Walt and Louise Simonson and co-artist Kent Williams on '' Havok and Wolverine: Meltdown'' in 1988. That series was a result of Williams and Muth's desire to work on a project together. Michael Zulli
Michael Zulli is an American artist known for his work as an animal and wildlife illustrator and as a comic book illustrator. Career Michael Zulli's career in the comics industry began in October 1986 with ''The Puma Blues'', on which he collaborated with writer Stephen Murphy. The monthly title was published by Dave Sim's Aardvark One International and later by Mirage Studios. Zulli illustrated the characters, wildlife and natural landscapes in the polluted post-industrial environment of the story's not-too-distant future. The ecological warnings of the series put forward an argument for natural conservation and against the abuse and pollution of the natural environment. The series was published for 23 issues and a mini-comic half issue, ending in 1989. Fable
Fable is a literary genre: a succinct fictional story, in prose or verse, that features animals, legendary creatures, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature that are anthropomorphized, and that illustrates or leads to a particular moral lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end be added explicitly as a concise maxim or saying. A fable differs from a parable in that the latter ''excludes'' animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech or other powers of humankind. Conversely, an animal tale specifically includes talking animals as characters. Usage has not always been so clearly distinguished. Stone Soup
Stone Soup is a European folk story in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys, and exists as a moral regarding the value of sharing. In varying traditions, the stone has been replaced with other common inedible objects, and therefore the fable is also known as axe soup, button soup, nail soup, and wood soup. Story Some travelers come to a village, carrying nothing more than an empty cooking pot. Upon their arrival, the villagers are unwilling to share any of their food stores with the very hungry travelers. Havok (Alexander Summers) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. He first appears in ''The X-Men'' #54 (March 1969), and was created by writer Arnold Drake and penciller Don Heck. Kent Robert Williams (born 1962) is an American painter and graphic novel artist. Williams, a draftsman and painter, has realized his work through various other artistic channels as well; that of the illustrated word and the graphic novel (including ''The Fountain'' with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky), printmaking, photography, design, architecture, and film. Louise Simonson (née Mary Louise Alexander; born September 26, 1946) is an American comic book writer and editor. She is best known for her work on comic book titles such as ''Conan the Barbarian'', ''Power Pack'', ''X-Factor'', ''New Mutants'', '' Superman: The Man of Steel'', and ''Steel''.
