John Hanna (ice Hockey)
John Isaac "Junior" Hanna (April 5, 1935 – November 20, 2005) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and coach. Hanna is considered to be the first player in the National Hockey League (NHL) of Lebanese descent. Hanna was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He played junior hockey for the Trois-Rivières Aigles and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens before signing a professional contract. He played 198 games in the NHL with the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers. He also played 66 games in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Cleveland Crusaders. However, the majority of his career was spent in the minors with the Quebec Aces of the American Hockey League and the Seattle Totems of the Western Hockey League. After retiring from competitive play, he was hired for several brief coaching stints in the AHL. Environmental Life Force (ELF), also known as the Original ELF, was the first radical environmental group in 1977 to use explosive and incendiary devices to advance their agenda. History The original ELF was founded by John Clark Hanna. who was the only member of the group to be arrested and convicted for the use of explosives on federal property. The ELF conducted armed actions in northern California and Oregon and disbanded in 1978 following Hanna's arrest. The group claimed that warfare designed pesticides were being used on domestic crops, specifically a chemical banned after its extensive use in Vietnam. Sir John Alexander Macdonald (January 10 or 11, 1815 – June 6, 1891) was the first prime minister of Canada, serving from 1867 to 1873 and from 1878 to 1891. The dominant figure of Canadian Confederation, he had a political career that spanned almost half a century. John Hanna (September 3, 1827 – October 24, 1882) was a United States Representative (1877 to 1879) and United States Attorney (1861 to 1866) from Indiana. Early years John Hanna was born on September 3, 1827, near Indianapolis. He pursued classical studies and graduated from the Indiana Asbury University (now DePauw University) in 1850. He studied law, was admitted to the bar. Career Hanna commenced practice in Greencastle. He was mayor of Greencastle from 1851 to 1854. John William Hanna (August 28, 1889 – March 23, 1962) was an Ontario merchant and political figure. He represented Huron—Bruce in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1943 to 1962 as a Progressive Conservative member. He was born in Wingham, Ontario Wingham (2016 census population 2,934) is a community located in the municipality of North Huron, Ontario, Canada, which is located in Huron County. Christopher John Hanna (c. 1947 – 27 December 1992), was a prison officer who held a senior position inside the Maze Prison, Northern Ireland. In June 1990 he was sentenced to life imprisonment at Maghaberry for helping the Provisional IRA kill colleague Brian Armour two years previously. He was also accused by former Ulster Defence Association (UDA) leader Andy Tyrie of complicity in UDA South Belfast brigadier John McMichael's death in 1987. McMichael was blown up by a bomb placed underneath his car. According to Tyrie, Hanna gathered information about McMichael when the latter visited loyalist inmates. Hanna in his turn passed on the information to local Belfast actress Rosena Brown, with whom Hanna was infatuated. Brown, dubbed the "IRA Mata Hari", served as an intelligence officer of the IRA.
