John FitzGerald, 15th Knight Of Kerry
John FitzGerald, 15th Knight of Kerry (1706 – 10 June 1741) was an Irish politician and hereditary knight. He was the older son of Maurice FitzGerald, 14th Knight of Kerry, and his wife Elizabeth Crosbie, second daughter of David Crosbie. His younger brother was Robert FitzGerald. In 1728, FitzGerald entered the Irish House of Commons and sat for Dingle until his death. One year later, he succeeded his father as Knight of Kerry. On 12 April 1732, FitzGerald married Margaret Deane, youngest daughter of Joseph Deane, Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer, and by her, he had a daughter and a son. FitzGerald died at The Grove, Dingle in 1741 and was succeeded in his title by his only son Maurice. Sir Maurice FitzGerald, 14th Knight of Kerry (died 1729) fought for James II in the Williamite War in Ireland, but after the defeat he conformed to the established religion by joining the Church of Ireland. He became Deputy Lieutenant of Kerry. Birth and origins Maurice was the eldest son of Sir John FitzGerald and his wife Honora O'Brien. His father was the 13th Knight of Kerry. His mother was the third daughter of Connor O'Brien, 2nd Viscount Clare. Both parents were Roman Catholic. He was one of four brothers. Maurice Crosbie, 1st Baron Brandon
Maurice Crosbie, 1st Baron Brandon, (c. 1689 –1762) was an Irish politician and peer. He was the son of David Crosbie, High Sheriff of Kerry, and his wife Jane Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton of Lisclooney, County Offaly, and grandson of Sir Thomas Crosbie, also High Sheriff of Kerry, and his wife Bridget Tynte. His father and grandfather both opposed the Glorious Revolution, and thereafter lived quietly on their County Kerry estates; Maurice's election to the House of Commons in 1713 marked the family's return to political prominence. The Crosbie family were of Gaelic and Catholic origin, but Maurice's ancestor John Crosbie converted to the Church of Ireland in the reign of Elizabeth I and was made Bishop of Ardfert. FitzGerald Dynasty
The FitzGerald/FitzMaurice Dynasty is a noble and aristocratic dynasty of Cambro-Norman, Anglo-Norman and later Hiberno-Norman origin. They have been peers of Ireland since at least the 13th century, and are described in the Annals of the Four Masters as having become "more Irish than the Irish themselves" or Gaels, due to assimilation with the native Gaelic aristocratic and popular culture. The dynasty has also been referred to as the Geraldines and Ireland's largest landowners. They achieved power through the conquest of large swathes of Irish territory by the sons and grandsons of Gerald of Windsor (c. 1075 – 1135). John Perceval, 2nd Earl of Egmont, PC, FRS (25 February 17114 December 1770) was a British politician, political pamphleteer, and genealogist who served as First Lord of the Admiralty. Early life He was the son and heir of John Perceval, 1st Earl of Egmont, by his wife Catherine Parker. He was baptised at the Palace of Westminster, London. His two siblings were Lady Catharine Perceval (wife of Thomas Hanmer MP of The Fenns) and Lady Helena Perceval (wife of John Rawdon, 1st Earl of Moira). Thomas Crosbie (Dingle MP)
Sir Thomas Crosbie (died 7 February 1694), also recorded as Crosby, was an Anglo-Irish soldier and politician. Crosbie was the eldest son of David Crosbie of Ardfert, a Protestantism in Ireland, Protestant planter whose family had moved to County Kerry in the early seventeenth century. His paternal grandfather was Bishop John Crosbie (bishop), John Crosbie. His mother was a daughter of Bishop John Steere (bishop), John Steere. Crosbie served as an Ensign (rank), ensign in the army of the Commonwealth of England, rising eventually to the rank of lieutenant in a troop of horse. He participated in the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland as a "known enemy of the Confederate Ireland, Confederate Catholics". After the Stuart Restoration, Crosbie, who inherited the family estate in 1658, was included in the general pardon granted to supporters of Oliver Cromwell, Cromwell. Robert FitzGerald, 17th Knight of Kerry (1717 – 5 December 1781) was an Irish politician, barrister and hereditary knight. He was the second son of Maurice FitzGerald, 14th Knight of Kerry and his wife Elizabeth Crosbie, second daughter of David Crosbie. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law and served then as Judge of the Admiralty Court. In 1741, he entered the Irish House of Commons and sat for Dingle, the same constituency his older brother John had represented before, until his death. Maurice FitzGerald, 16th Knight of Kerry (c. 1734 – 24 June 1779), known as "The Dingle Knight", was an Irish politician, barrister and hereditary knight. He was the only surviving son of John FitzGerald, 15th Knight of Kerry and his wife Margaret Deane, daughter of Joseph Deane. In 1741, he succeeded his father as Knight of Kerry. FitzGerald was Judge of the Admiralty Court and in 1761, he entered the Irish House of Commons. He sat for Dingle, the same constituency his father had represented before, until 1776. On 10 June 1764, he married his cousin Lady Anne FitzMaurice, only daughter of William FitzMaurice, 2nd Earl of Kerry. FitzGerald died childless and was succeeded in his title by his uncle Robert. Dingle (Irish language, Irish: ''An Daingean'' or ''Daingean Uí Chúis'', meaning "fort of Ó Cúis") is a town in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The only town on the Dingle Peninsula, it sits on the Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic coast, about southwest of Tralee and northwest of Killarney.
