John Chillas
John Stalker Chillas (born 31 July 1951) is a Scottish professional golfer. He won the Scottish PGA Championship twice, in 1976 and 2001. He has also won three times on the European Seniors Tour. He tied for 52nd place in the 1984 Open Championship. His best season on the Seniors Tour was 2004 when, in addition to winning the end-of-season Estoril Seniors Tour Championship, he was runner-up 5 times and third on two other occasions. From late August to late September he was runner-up in 4 successive tournaments, the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open, the Bovis Lend Lease European Senior Masters, The Daily Telegraph Turismo Andaluz European Seniors Match Play Championship and the ADT English Seniors Open. He finished the season third in the order of merit. UBS Cup
The UBS Cup was a team golf tournament contested by the United States and a team representing the "Rest of the World" which ran from 2001 to 2004. In 2001 and 2002 it was called the UBS Warburg Cup. Six golfers on each side had to be 50 or over, and the remaining six had to be in their forties. It was sanctioned by the PGA Tour (which operates the Champions Tour for golfers over 50) and the European Seniors Tour. Like the Ryder Cup, the competition was a mixture of foursomes matches, four ball matches and single matches. The United States won the inaugural cup in 2001, held at Cassique Golf Course Kiawah Island, by a score of 12 ½ - 11 ½. The U.S. then retained the trophy with a 14 ½ - 9 ½ victory in 2002 on the Seaside Course at Sea Island, Georgia. PGA Cup
The PGA Cup is a men's golf competition for club professionals played between a Great Britain and Ireland team and a United States team. The winning team is presented with the Llandudno Trophy. The competition is run by the British PGA and the PGA of America. It was first played in 1973 and was an annual event until 1984, after which it became biennial. The 2022 event was held at the Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, England, the second time that the course had been chosen to host the event. The United States won by five points, to retain the trophy they won in 2019. History The first two contests, at Pinehurst, North Carolina in 1973 and 1974, were contested for the Diamondhead Cup. Glenn Ralph
Glenn William Ralph (born 12 July 1956) is an English professional golfer. Ralph was born in Haslemere, Surrey. He turned professional in 1973, and played on the European Tour for many years. His best season came in 1987 when he finished in 51st place on the Order of Merit. Since turning 50, Ralph has competed on the European Senior Tour, where he has enjoyed some success. Having finished 36th on the money list in 2006, and 23rd in 2007, he missed virtually the entire 2008 season having broken his ankle. The Scandinavian Senior Open was a men's professional golf tournament for players aged 50 and above as part of the European Seniors Tour. It was played in Denmark from 2005 to 2007. David Good (golfer)
David James Good (born 18 December 1947) is a retired professional golfer from Australia. He had some success in the 1970s but is most noted for his record as a senior player. From 2000 he played regularly on the European Senior Tour, where he won twice and had nearly 50 top-10 finishes. Professional career Good turned professional after the 1969 Australian Amateur at Royal Adelaide. He was the medalist after rounds of 71 and 70 but lost in the quarter-finals. Good travelled to Europe in 1973. He had limited success but qualified for the Open Championship at Troon and finished tied for 18th place. Later in the year, he came close to his first important win in the 1973 Garden City Classic in Christchurch, New Zealand. He had a 7-stroke lead after 3 rounds but had a final round of 77 and was beaten by John Lister who had a final round 67. Good shared second place with Bob Shearer. Eamonn Darcy
Eamonn Christopher Darcy (born 7 August 1952) is an Irish professional golfer. He won four times on the European Tour and played in the Ryder Cup four times. Professional career Darcy, with a handicap of 12, turned professional at the age of 16, in 1968,.becoming an assistant at Grange Golf Club in Dublin. The following year he moved to Erewash Valley Golf Club in Derbyshire, staying until 1979. Darcy's tournament career coincided with the start of the European Tour in 1972. He first came to notice in 1974 when he was a joint runner-up in the Nigerian Open. In Europe he was tied for third place in the Portuguese Open and tied sixth in the Dunlop Masters, finishing 36th in the Order of Merit. Darcy finished third on the Order of Merit in 1975 and made that year's Ryder Cup team, his first of four performances.
