John Caulfield (Irish Footballer)
John Caulfield (born 11 October 1964) is a retired League of Ireland footballer, he has been the manager of Galway United F.C. since August 2020. Caulfield spent the majority of his playing career at Cork City F.C. and was a prominent member of the team that won the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division. He was also the League of Ireland Premier Division Top Scorer in both 1991–92 and 1994–95. As a manager Caulfield has won the 2016 FAI Cup, 2017 FAI Cup and 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division with Cork City F.C. Caulfield has also played Gaelic football and represented both Roscommon and Cork at inter-county level, winning an All-Ireland title with the latter. Family Caulfield was born in The Bronx, New York. His mother was from County Cork and his father was from County Mayo. When he was a young child he moved with his family to County Roscommon. Roscommon GAA
The Roscommon County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Coiste Chontae Ros Comáin) or Roscommon GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Roscommon. The county board is also responsible for the Roscommon county teams. The county football team was the third from the province of Connacht to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), following Galway and Mayo. Fran Hitchcock
Fran Hitchcock (born 2 December 1960 in Dublin) is an Irish former footballer who played as a forward during the 1980s and 1990s. Hitchcock made his League of Ireland debut for Shelbourne F.C. on 7 September 1980. He can count Home Farm F.C. (4 spells), Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers, Dundalk and Bohemian F.C. amongst his many clubs during a long career in the League of Ireland. Hitchcock scored for Athlone Town A.F.C. in the 1983–84 European Cup. While at Home Farm F.C. his form helped him earn a Player of the Month award in December 1984. He played twice in the European Cup for Rovers in 1985 making a total of eight appearances whilst at Glenmalure Park. Hitchcock bought out his contract at Rovers in January 1986 to move back to Home Farm. He also played in goal for St Pats reserves. He signed for Bohemians in October 1991. Turlough O'Connor (footballer)
Turlough O'Connor (born 22 July 1946 in Athlone) was an Irish association footballer during the 1960s and 1970s. He is a member of the Bohemians Hall of Fame. His two brothers Padraig O'Connor and Michael O'Connor also played for Athlone Town. Playing career He has spells as player at Limerick F.C., where he made a scoring debut in a League of Ireland Shield game at Sligo on 25 August 1963, Bohemians, Fulham, Bohemians again, Dundalk and Athlone Town. He made 191 league appearances (scoring 120 times) and 15 appearances in European competition for Bohs (scoring 1 goal) against Rangers in the European Cupbr> He was top scorer in the League of Ireland in 1973/74 and 1977/78. The Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT; ga, Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Átha Luain) was an institute of technology, located in Athlone, Ireland. Established in 1970, the institute's campus was located on University Road. A consortium between itself and the Limerick Institute of Technology was announced with the intention of forming a technological university. Summerhill College (aka The College of the Immaculate Conception) is a Roman Catholic voluntary secondary school for boys located in the town of Sligo in northwest Ireland. History The school was founded in 1857 by then-Bishop of Elphin, Dr Laurence Gillooly, in Summerhill, Athlone, County Roscommon (present-day County Westmeath).
