John Beck (actor)
John Beck (born January 28, 1943) is an American retired actor, known for his role as Mark Graison in the television series ''Dallas'' during the mid-1980s. Early life Beck was born in Chicago, Illinois but he grew up in Evanston and Joliet on his father's ranch with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. His goals changed at the age of sixteen after performing in a play in high school to overcome shyness. Three years later, Beck moved to California and took jobs in television commercials. In 1963-4, Beck attended Joliet Junior College but quit to begin acting in plays in other cities. Career Beck's television debut was as a Sergeant in the 1965 ''I Dream of Jeannie'' episode, "Russian Roulette". His first regular role was on the western series ''Nichols'' (1971-1972) alongside James Garner, playing the role of Orv Ketcham. John Alexander Beck (born 25 May 1954) is an English former footballer and manager. As a player, he made nearly 500 English Football League appearances for five clubs between 1972 and 1989. As a manager, he had a highly successful spell in charge of Cambridge United in the early 1990s, when he guided the club to two successive promotions and two successive quarter-final appearances in the FA Cup. Beck took the club from the Fourth Division to the Second and very nearly to the new Premier League at the end of the 1991–92 season, where they ended their campaign fifth in the Second Division, their highest ever league finish.. The John A. and Audrey Jones Beck Collection included impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, and the museum named its Audrey Jones Beck Building in her honor. John Brodhead Beck (18 September 1794 Schenectady, New York – 9 April 1851 Rhinebeck, New York) was a New York physician who was an authority on miscarriage, abortion, infant physiology, and associated forensic issues. Biography He was the third son of Caleb Beck and Catharine Theresa Romeyn, only daughter of Rev. Theodorick Romeyn, D.D., long principal of the Academy of Schenectady, and one of the founders of Union College. While yet a child, in 1798, John Beck lost his father. John Beaumont Beck MC (13 August 1899 – 20 June 1980) was an English amateur golfer. He played in the 1928 Walker Cup but is best remembered for being the captain in 1938, when Great Britain and Ireland won the Cup for the first time after nine defeats. He was also the non-playing captain in 1947. Towards the end of the First World War, Beck served as a second lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards. In 1919, he was awarded the Military Cross. Beck played in the 1928 Walker Cup at Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois, a match the Americans won 11–1. He played in the foursomes, but was not selected for the singles. Jonathan Beck was an American film producer in the 1950s and 1960s. He played an important role in the making of ''King Kong vs. Godzilla'' and was also involved in the merger of Universal Pictures and International Pictures. After the success of the original King Kong film, special effects artist Willis H. O’Brien wanted to make a film where King Kong fights a monster created by Dr. Frankenstein. In the early 1960s, O’Brien handed his idea to Beck for him to produce it. However, without O’Brien's permission, he went to a Japanese studio called Toho to make it. They changed it to King Kong vs. Godzilla, and it went on to be a big hit. O’Brien died a few months before King Kong vs. Godzilla was released in the U.S., but he was not pleased for what Beck did.
