John Ballard (record Producer)
John Ballard (born 14 April 1951) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he has a recording studio (Tuff Studios). At Tuff Studios he has produced amongst others, Ace of Base (their first three albums), as well as co-writing some of their songs. Discography Ballard has also written songs for the Eurovision Song Contest and also performed twice in the Swedish qualification rounds of ESC in the 1980s: Other projects Ballard founded the successful Scandinavian band Bubbles (band), Bubbles and wrote and recorded most of their songs. He wrote and recorded the title track for the European release of Ice Age (2002 film), Ice Age He wrote most of the tracks for the Swedish boy band Together, including the track "Vänner" (Friends) which went to number one in Sweden. Boy Band
A boy band is loosely defined as a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation. Bubbles (band)
Bubbles was a Swedish Euro-Dance group, also known as Bless. The group's original lineup consisted of Caroline Ljungström (born 26 June 1987), twin sisters Patricia and Sandra Joxelius (both born 7 April 1987), Jenny (Yenny) Andersén (born 10 October 1988), and Hannah Steffenburg (born 14 April 1988). Sweden held a national preselction named ''Melodifestivalen 1984'' to choose the entry for the Eurovision Song Contest the same year. The winner was the three brothers Herrey, consisting of Richard, Louis and Per. Their song was called "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley", and was written by Britt Lindeborg and Torgny Söderberg. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1984 Melodifestivalen 1984 was the selection for the 24th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 23rd time that this system of picking a song had been used. 90 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. The final was held in the Lisebergshallen in Gothenburg on 25 February 1984, presented by Fredrik Belfrage and was broadcast on TV1 but was not broadcast on radio. Sweden used a national preselction called ''Melodifestivalen 1983'' to select an entry for the 28th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Winner, being the first participant ever to get maximum points from all of the eleven juries, was the 17-year-old and then unknown Carola Häggkvist, who quickly went on to be one of Sweden's most popular singers. The song she competed with was called " Främling". It was written by Lasse Holm and Monica Forsberg, who had also written the previous winning song together. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1983 Melodifestivalen 1983 was the selection for the 23rd song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Ann-Louise Hanson
Ann-Louise Hanson (born in Kristianstad in 1944) is a Swedish singer who has been involved in the music industry since 1956. In 1960, she had her first hit, "Är du ensam i kväll?", a Swedish version of Elvis Presley's ''Are you lonesome tonight?'' Many of her solo recordings from the 1960s feature Bruno Glenmarks Orkester and, following their marriage, Ann-Louise and Bruno Glenmark formed the group Glenmarks with Bruno's niece Karin and nephew Anders. Soon after, their own GlenDisc record label began producing vinyl, cassettes and eventually CDs under the banner of 'Hanson-Glenmark Production AB'. Ann-Louise holds the dubious honour of having entered the Swedish Melodifestivalen competition thirteen times without winning once, which is a record in itself. Of those entries, the songs "Bara en enda gång" (a duet with John Ballard) and "Kärleken lever" are amongst her best remembered.
