Johanneshovsbron 2
Johanneshovsbron (Swedish: "The Johanneshov Bridge") is a 756 metres long and 17,9 metres wide road bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Overpassing two older bridges, Skansbron and Skanstullsbron, and one newer bridge, Fredriksdalsbron, it connects Södermalm and the tunnel passing under it, Söderledstunneln, to Johanneshov, the district immediately south of the historical city centre, and national road 73, leading out of the city. Brought about by the construction of the tunnel, Johanneshovsbron forms part of one of the major roads passing through the central city, extending north over Centralbron. Running south form the mouth of Söderledstunneln to the west of Skanstull, the bridge runs uphill and somewhat in parallel to Skanstullsbron for some 500 metres before it turns east to pass over its neighbour, between which ramps it finally extends into road 37 underneath the roundabout at Johanneshov. Johanneshov
Johanneshov () is a district in Stockholm located at the intersection of national road 73 and national road 75 in the borough of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör, southern Stockholm, Sweden. The icehockey arena Hovet is located in Johanneshov, its current formal name taken from its former popular name, and short for "Johanneshovs isstadion". Slakthusområdet, a former meat packing district, is being developed to an urban city area with small businesses and apartments. Tvärbanan
Tvärbanan is a light-rail line in Stockholm, Sweden. Its name literally translates to ''The transverse line'', as it operates crosswise to the otherwise radial metro and commuter rail lines of Stockholm. It links together several transit lines through its connections with the southern, western and northern subway branches of the Stockholm Metro (''Tunnelbana'') as well as three branches of the Stockholm commuter rail (''Pendeltåg''). The possibility to travel between southern, western and northern greater Stockholm without having to enter the city centre significantly reduces the number of transit passengers, also reducing the number of trains having to pass through the Old Town bottleneck during peak hours. Prestressed Concrete
Prestressed concrete is a form of concrete used in construction. It is substantially "prestressed" ( compressed) during production, in a manner that strengthens it against tensile forces which will exist when in service. Post-tensioned concreted is "structural concrete in which internal stresses have been introduced to reduce potential tensile stresses in the concrete resulting from loads." This compression is produced by the tensioning of high-strength "tendons" located within or adjacent to the concrete and is done to improve the performance of the concrete in service. Skanstull
Skanstull is an area in Södermalm in Stockholm. Skanstull connects the traffic between the inner city and the south parts of Stockholm and its suburbs. Skanstull was originally the city's southern toll station, but the toll station was removed in 1857. Skanstull served as an execution site in the 17th century. Centralbron
Centralbron (, "The Central Bridge") is a major bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden, connecting the northern district Norrmalm to the southern Södermalm. It is 1,200 metres long and consists of two viaducts passing over Söderström ("Southern Stream") and Riddarfjärden close to Norrström ("Northern Stream") with an interjacent elevated section traversing Riddarholmskanalen and the adjacent eastern waterfront of Riddarholmen. Centralbron has a capacity for 130,000 cars per day. It is paralleled by the bridges (''Södra'' and ''Norra järnvägsbron'') and the tunnel of a two-track railway used by the commuter and freight trains. Swedish National Road 73
National Road 73 (''Riksväg 73''), Nynäsvägen, is a Swedish national road in Sweden between Stockholm and Nynäshamn. The length is 57 km (35 mi). National road 73 begins at the Johanneshov junction at Gullmarsplan in Stockholm with connections from the bridges Johanneshovsbron and Skanstullsbron and county road 226 (Huddingevägen), passing above Södra länken and continues southwards. At Gubbängen junction goes beneath county road 229 (Örbyleden/Tyresövägen), continues past Farsta, passing the municipal border of Huddinge where then county road 271 (Magelungsvägen) joins. Södermalm, often shortened to just Söder, is a district and island in central Stockholm. Overview The district covers the large island of the same name (formerly called ''Åsön''). Although Södermalm usually is considered an island, water to both its north and south does not flow freely but passes through locks.
