Kvinnherad is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland, along the Hardangerfjorden. The municipality was the 5th in size in former Hordaland county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rosendal. The largest village is Husnes, with about 6,000 people living in or near the village. Andreas Lavik
Andreas Johannessen Lavik (18 August 1854 – 18 December 1918) was a Norwegian revivalist, temperance advocate, magazine editor, farmer, headmaster and politician. Early life and family He was born in Eksingedalen as a son of farmer Johannes Andersson Lavik and Kari Andersdotter Kyte. He was a brother of journalist and newspaper editor Johannes Lavik and actor and theatre director Dore Lavik. In 1881, he married Margrethe Christine Matthiessen. They had eleven children. Among their sons was jurist and newspaper editor Johannes Lavik. His wife Margrethe was elected as deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway in 1915. He was an uncle of parliamentarian Nils Lavik and journalist Herbrand Lavik. Career From 1878 to 1887, Lavik worked as a travelling lay preacher for the organization Bergens Indremisjon. ''Dagen'' is a Norwegian Christian newspaper established in 1919, and published in Bergen. The average circulation in 2004 was 5,307 copies. The ideological goal of the newspaper was "to influence society from a revival Christian point of view". ''Norsk presses historie 1660–2010'' is a four-volume work about the press media history of Norway. It was published in April 2010 by Universitetsforlaget, and was the first book of its kind in Norway. Structure and production Hans Fredrik Dahl was the superior editor of all four volumes. The first volume, ''En samfunnsmakt blir til. 1660–1880'' was edited by Martin Eide. The second volume, ''Presse, parti og publikum. 1880–1945'' was edited by Rune Ottosen. The third volume, ''Imperiet vakler. 1945–2010'' was edited by Guri Hjeltnes. The fourth volume, ''Norske aviser fra A til Å'' was edited by Idar Flo. While the first three volumes are written in regular prose, the fourth volume is more of an encyclopedia with about 400 "newspaper biographies". Composed of 1925 pages across all volumes, the entire work cost and was finished after eleven years.
