Joey Ammo
Birdbrain was an American post-grunge band, formed in Boston, Massachusetts, by neighborhood friends in 1992 and dissolved in 1997. They had some success with their song " Youth of America", which appeared in the 1996 film '' Scream'', as well as a contribution to the soundtrack for the 1995 film '' The Last Supper'' with a cover of Paul McCartney's "Jet". They were formed by guitarist/singer/songwriter Joey Ammo and drummer Mike Benway and signed to TVT Records in 1995. With two CD albums and two soundtrack contributions they broke up in 1997. History The Boston band was formed in the early 1990s after a chance meeting in a Roslindale, MA bar between Ammo and Benway. They rented a rehearsal studio, began funding some recording projects and started setting up bookings. Eventually they hired local manager Jeff Hudson. ''Youth of America'' is the second studio album by American punk rock band Wipers. It was released in 1981 by record label Park Avenue. Content The album marked a distinctive change in the band's sound. ''Bliss'' is Birdbrain's debut studio album. It was recorded in 1995 at Newbury Sound, Boston, Massachusetts and released by TVT Records on August 15, 1995. Before ''Bliss'', the band's only other releases was a demo tape, the song "Violence" on an anthology of Boston rock. It was their only album to have James Dennis on it. Despite a tour and promotion from TVT, the album was not successful. After the tour, on the eve of starting pre-production for the second album "Let's Be Nice" guitarist James Dennis was driven from the band over creative differences. "(She's Always) Glowing" was later featured on the TVT compilation ''Got TVT?''. Long View Farm Studios was a music recording studio located in North Brookfield, Massachusetts which was founded in 1974 by Gilbert Scott Markle, a professor at Clark University, on his farm property. "Jet" is a song by Paul McCartney and Wings from their third studio album ''Band on the Run'' (1973). It was the first British and American single to be released from the album.
