Joe Rogers (politician)
Joseph Bernard Rogers (July 8, 1964 – October 7, 2013) was an American politician served as the 45th Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1999 to 2003. Early life and education Rogers was born on July 8, 1964, in Omaha, Nebraska to Joe Louis Rogers and Lola Marie Rogers. He later moved with his family to Colorado, and was raised in Commerce City. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University and Juris Doctor from the Arizona State University College of Law. Rogers was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Career As an attorney, Rogers practiced law in Colorado and served as staff counsel to U.S. Senator Hank Brown. In 1996, Rogers ran for Colorado's 1st congressional district as a Republican, gaining 42% of the vote. In 1998, he was elected the second black lieutenant governor of Colorado after George L. Joseph Wilson Rogers (November 30, 1919 – March 3, 2017) was an American businessman. He was co-founder and former CEO of the Waffle House franchise restaurant chain, which began business in 1955 in Georgia, and has grown to over 2,100 locations in 25 states. Early years Born in 1919 in Jackson, Tennessee, he grew up there at 291 W. Deaderick Street, and graduated from Jackson High School in 1938. During World War II Rogers served in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot reaching the rank of captain. Rogers started in the restaurant business as a short-order cook in 1947, at the Toddle House in New Haven, Connecticut. By 1949, he had become a regional manager with the now-defunct Memphis-based restaurant chain, and moved to Atlanta. There he met Tom Forkner, whom he bought a house from in the Atlanta suburb of Avondale Estates.

Joseph James Rogers (born 1876) was an English professional footballer who played either as a forward or full back for Southampton, Grimsby Town and Newcastle United. Football career Born in Foleshill, near Coventry (then in Warwickshire), Rogers was playing for Macclesfield when he was signed by Southampton in December 1894, midway through the inaugural Southern League season. Shortly after joining "the Saints" he scored ten goals in a friendly match against the Wiltshire Regiment, which was won 13–0 on a quagmire of a pitch at Southampton's Antelope Ground. He made his first few league appearances at either centre forward or inside forward before Southampton's coaches persuaded him to play as a full back. In this position "''his speed, control and kicking ability came in useful''", but Rogers soon became unsettled on the south coast and moved to Grimsby Town in May 1896. Joseph William Rogers (3 July 1907 – 20 August 1966) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The eldest of the nine children of John Rogers (1864-1922), and Harriett Rogers (1868-1942), née Fox, Joseph William Rogers was born at Campbells Creek, Victoria on 3 July 1907. He married Esther Altie Ross (1910-1993) in 1931. Football Rogers commenced his senior football career in the Victorian Football Association, initially playing with Coburg, and then with Northcote. He then spent two years playing with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League and subsequently played with Camberwell in the Victorian Football Association again.
