Joe Hugill
Joseph Brennen Hugill (born 19 October 2003) is an English footballer who plays as a centre-forward for club Wigan Athletic, on loan from club Manchester United. Early life Born in Durham, England, Hugill started his career with Newcastle United, where he spent a year, before joining rivals Sunderland. Club career Manchester United Hugill signed with Premier League side Manchester United on 1 July 2020, with the Manchester club reportedly having fought off competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, among others, for his signature. His career in Manchester started brightly, with his most notable performance coming against Liverpool U23, where he scored four goals in a 6–3 win. In doing so, he became only the second player in Manchester United history to score four in one game against Liverpool, after Steve Jones in a reserve game in 1977. Durham, England
Durham ( , locally ), is a cathedral city and civil parish on the River Wear, County Durham, England. FA Youth Cup
The Football Association Youth Challenge Cup is an English football competition run by The Football Association for under-18 sides. Only those players between the age of 15 and 18 on 31 August of the current season are eligible to take part. It is dominated by the youth sides of professional teams, mostly from the Premier League, but attracts over 400 entrants from throughout the country. At the end of the Second World War the FA organised a Youth Championship for County Associations considering it the best way to stimulate the game among those youngsters not yet old enough to play senior football. The matches did not attract large crowds but outstanding players were selected for Youth Internationals and thousands were given the chance to play in a national contest for the first time. 2023–24 EFL Trophy
The 2023–24 EFL Trophy, known as the Bristol Street Motors Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 43rd season in the history of the competition, and was a knock-out tournament for clubs in EFL League One and League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football league system, as well as the " Academy teams" of 15 Premier League and one Championship club with Category One status. For the first time since 1984, the competition lacked a sponsor. Following the expiration of Papa Johns's sponsorship contract, the EFL attempted to find new sponsor but were unable to do so. On 2 November 2023, EFL announced they had reached a sponsorship agreement with car dealership brand Bristol Street Motors and the tournament's name was changed to reflect that from that point. England National Under-18 Football Team
England national under-18 football team, also known as England under-18s or England U18(s), represents England in association football at under-18 age level and is controlled by the Football Association, the governing body for football in England. The team is coached by Neil Ryan. The team competed in the FIFA International Youth Tournament (later taken over by UEFA) and its successor, the UEFA European Under-18 Championship, and was often referred to as England Youth. After the tournament was renamed the European Under-18 Championship, England won twice more, in 1980 and 1993.
