Joseph "Joe" Haveman (born February 21, 1961) is a Republican politician from Michigan who previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. For the 97th Legislature, Haveman was the Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations. In March 2017, Haveman filed to run for State Senator of the 30th district. Prior to his election to the Legislature, Haveman was director of business development at GDK Construction, executive director of the Holland Home Builders Association, and a former member of both Holland City Council and the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners. Michigan's 30th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 30th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Mark Huizenga since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Roger Victory. By most measures it is the most Republican-leaning district in the Senate. William Patrick Huizenga ( ; born January 31, 1969) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for , serving in Congress since 2011. The district, numbered as the 2nd district from 2011 to 2023, covers much of Lake Michigan's eastern shore and many of Grand Rapids's suburbs, including Muskegon, Holland, Kentwood, and Grand Haven.
