Joe Gross
L. W. (Joe) Gross (October 27, 1925 – August 2, 2004), was an American politician from the state of Iowa. Gross was born October 27, 1925, in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Lester and Opal Gross. Joe's father Lester was a younger brother of H. R. Gross Harold Royce Gross (June 30, 1899 – September 22, 1987) was a Republican United States Representative from Iowa's 3rd congressional district for thirteen terms. Mount Ayr is a rural community in southwestern Iowa, 22 miles west of Interstate 35 on State Highway 2. Mount Ayr was founded in 1875 and the community was named in honor of poet Robert Burns’ birthplace in Ayr, Scotland.
