Jody Grace
Jody Grace (born 9 November 1967) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Toomevara, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Tipperary teams. Career Grace first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Toomevara club, winning numerous championship titles from under-12 up to under-21 level. He was just 17-years-old when he was part of the Toomevera team that won the Tipperary IHC title in 1984. Grace later won three successive Tipperary SHC medals from 1992 to 1994. He was captain of the team for the second of these victories, when Toomevara also claimed the Munster Club SHC title before later losing the 1994 All-Ireland club final to Sarsfields. Grace first appeared on the inter-county scene with Tipperary as goalkeeper on the minor team beaten by Cork in the 1985 Munster final. He later spent one season with the under-21 team. Ken Hogan
James Kenneth Hogan (born 1 May 1963) is an Irish former hurler who played as a goalkeeper at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Born in Lorrha, County Tipperary, Hogan first played competitive hurling whilst at school at the Presentation College, Birr. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team, before later joining the under-21 team. He joined the senior team during the 1986 championship. Hogan went on to win two All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions throughout his career, however, Hogan never won a Railway Cup medal. North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the North Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1907 for senior hurling teams in North Tipperary, Ireland. The series of games begins in March, with the championship culminating with the final in August. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The North Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. The winners and runners-up of the North Tipperary Championship joined their counterparts from the other three divisions to contest the county championship quarter-finals. 13 clubs currently participate in the North Tipperary Championship. The 1994 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 104th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The 1993 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 103rd staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 12 September 1993 and ended on 10 October 1993. Toomevara were the defending champions. On 10 October 1993, Toomevara won the championship after a 1–14 to 1–13 defeat of Nenagh Éire Óg in the final at Semple Stadium. It was their 12th championship title overall and their second title in succession. Sponsorship For the first time ever, the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was sponsored. The 1992 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 102nd staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 13 September 1992 and ended on 8 November 1992. Cashel King Cormacs were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Loughmore-Castleiney at the quarter-final stage. On 8 November 1992, Toomevara won the championship after a 0–12 to 1–06 defeat of Thurles Sarsfields in a final replay at Semple Stadium. It was their 11th championship title overall and their first title since 1960. Brendan Cummins (Tipperary Hurler)
Brendan Cummins (born 11 May 1975) is an Irish hurler and hurling coach who played as a goalkeeper for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Ardfinnan, County Tipperary, Cummins arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor football team, before later joining the minor hurling team and the under-21 sides in both codes. He made his senior hurling debut in the 1993-94 National Hurling League. Cummins went on to play a key role as goalkeeper for twenty years, and won two All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and three National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. Cummins represented the Munster inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, winning two Railway Cup medals in 2000 and as captain in 2001. The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1995 (known for the first time for sponsorship reasons as the Guinness Hurling Championship 1995) was the 109th staging of Ireland's premier hurling knock-out competition. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league.
