Jodie DeSolla
Jodie deSolla (born April 11, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is the former lead for Andrea Crawford, out of the Gage Golf and Curling Club in Oromocto, New Brunswick. Currently, she plays second on Team Sarah Mallais. Born in Montreal, Quebec, deSolla moved to New Brunswick. Career Juniors deSolla's first national experience came in 2002 at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where she would represent New Brunswick, playing second for Andrea Kelly. The team would finish round robin with a 6-6 record and a seventh-place finish. deSolla would return to the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2004, where playing for Kelly, the team would improve on their previous record. They would finish round robin in third place with a 9-3 record. Andrea Kelly (born July 31, 1985), previously known as Andrea Crawford, is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She currently skips her own team out of the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton. She is a nine-time New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion skip, winning six straight titles from 2009–2014. Career Juniors Kelly's first national experience came at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where she would represent New Brunswick. Her team would finish round robin with a 6–6 record and a seventh-place finish. Although Kelly would not win the New Brunswick junior championship in 2003, she would attend the 2003 Canada Winter Games, where she won a bronze medal. Lianne Sobey is a Canadian curler from New Brunswick. She plays lead for Andrea Kelly. Denise Nowlan
Denise Nowlan (born July 28, 1971, in Fredericton as Denise Cormier) is a Canadian curler from Moncton, New Brunswick. She is a five-time New Brunswick Scotties champion. Career As a junior, Nowlan represented New Brunswick at two Canadian Junior Curling Championships and won the event in 1991. The team finished fifth at the 1991 World Junior Curling Championships. Nowlan made her first Scotties appearance in 1993 playing lead for Nancy McConnery at the 1993 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The team included Sandy Comeau and Leanne Perron as well. They finished with a 2–9 record, only beating Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec. Nowlan would not return to the national championship until 2007 where she played third for her former teammate Sandy Comeau. 2011 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 19 to February 27 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. It was the 30th anniversary of Kruger Products sponsoring the tournament and the first time a Bronze Medal Game was added to the playoffs. Teams The defending champions of team Jennifer Jones (curler), Jennifer Jones, are looking to win their fifth Scotties Championship. This will be the first Scotties appearance for the Jones' new third Kaitlyn Lawes, who was added to the team after Jones and crew parted ways with longtime third Cathy Overton-Clapham. 2010 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from January 30 to February 7 at the Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The event was described as having a weaker field than normal, as many of the usual provincial champions did not qualify. The event featured only two teams that have won the Scotties before: Jennifer Jones who qualified as last year's champion, and Kelly Scott of British Columbia. Making her first trip to the Scotties as a skip is Saskatchewan's Amber Holland, who won the 2008 Players' Championships. Ontario will be represented by Krista McCarville who won a bronze medal at the 2009 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. The 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 21 to March 1 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia. Teams Round-Robin Standings Quebec was awarded 2nd Place by virtue of the pre tournament draw to the button plus victories over Team PEI and Team Saskatchewan.
