Job Roggeveen
Job Roggeveen (born 1979 in Geldrop) is a film director and writer. He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He graduated in 2003. In 2007 he co-founded animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke together with Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw. Job, Joris & Marieke works on commissioned work, music videos and short animated films. Job is also an instrumentalist and a composer. He composes the soundtracks for all the films by Job, Joris & Marieke. In 2011 he started the music projecHappy Camper Happy Camper released two studio albums, an EP and a single. In 2011 Happy Camper won an Edison Award. He is also part of the Dutch band El Pino and the Volunteers. In 2013 Job, Joris & Marieke released their animated short film MUTE. MUTE won, among others, the Grand Prix and the audience award at the Holland Animatie Film Festival in 2013. Geldrop
Geldrop is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is in the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo, around 5 km east of Eindhoven city centre. Geldrop was a separate municipality until 2004, when it merged with Mierlo. Geldrop is noted for having a neighbourhood with streets named after characters and elements from the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. The spoken language is "Geldrops", a distinct dialect within the East Brabantian dialect group and very similar to colloquial Dutch. Transport The A67 motorway (part of European route E34) links Geldrop with Eindhoven. Geldrop railway station is on the Eindhoven–Weert line. The Cartoon d'Or was a European award for animated short films. History It was rewarded every year to the best European short film from Cartoon's partner festivals until it was suppressed in favor of the Emile Awards. Amongst this short list, a jury selects 5 films that will be screened during the Cartoon Forum (in order to promote 5 filmmakers each year) and one film will receive the Cartoon d'Or. Created in 1991, the Cartoon d'Or used to be the only completely European animation prize until the final award was given to Gabriel Harel for ''Yùl and the Snake'' in 2016. Design Academy Eindhoven is an interdisciplinary educational institute for art, architecture and design in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The work of its faculty and alumni have brought it international recognition, and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading design schools.
