Felipe González Márquez (; born 5 March 1942) is a retired Spanish politician who was Prime Minister of Spain from 1982 to 1996 and leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party from 1974 to 1997. He is the longest-serving democratically-elected Prime Minister of Spain. González joined the PSOE in 1964 when it was banned under the Francoist regime. Carlos Solchaga (born 28 March 1944) is a Spanish economist, businessman and politician, who served in different capacities at various Spanish cabinets. Early life and education Solchaga was born in Tafalla in 1944. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and business studies which he obtained from Madrid's Complutense University in 1966. He received a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971. Career Solchaga began his career at the Bank of Spain. He was the economic studies manager and advisor at Banco de Vizcaya from 1976 to 1979. Then he served as a minister for trade of the Basque general council of Spain from 1979 to 1980. Luis Carlos Croissier Batista (born 1950) is a Spanish politician and executive. He served as Minister of Industry and Energy from 1986 to 1988. Biography He was born on 18 August 1950 in Arucas, in the Canary Islands. He moved to the mainland to take his university studies and graduated in Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he became a member of the clandestine Communist Party of Spain (PCE). Croissier, who went on to Paris to further continue post-graduate studies in Economics, returned to Spain in 1974 and joined the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). After the death of the dictator, Croissier joined the High Corps of Technicians in Civil Administration. Croissier, who had run as candidate in the PSOE list vis-à-vis the 1982 general election, became a member of the Congress of Deputies in 1983, covering the vacant seat for Madrid left in the lower house by Francisco Fernández Ordóñez. Mataró () is the capital and largest town of the Maresme county in Catalonia, Spain.
