Joachim Van Damme
Joachim Van Damme (born 23 July 1991) is a Belgian footballer who plays in central defence as well as central midfield. He plays for Beveren on loan from Standard Liège. Cocaine suspension Van Damme tested positive for cocaine on 16 January 2016 and was suspended by the Flemish doping tribunal for two years, until 29 January 2018. KV Mechelen subsequently cancelled his contract. As a free player, his former club Waasland-Beveren offered him a contract in May 2017. End of November 2017, although still under suspension and unavailable to play for his club, Van Damme signed a contract extension at Waasland-Beveren keeping him at the club until June 2020. On 11 January 2022, Van Damme moved to Standard Liège. On 19 August 2022, Van Damme returned to Beveren on a season-long loan. Beveren
Beveren () is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders which comprises the towns of Beveren, Doel, Haasdonk, Kallo, Kieldrecht, Melsele, Verrebroek and Vrasene. The port of the Waasland (Dutch: ''Waaslandhaven'') is in Beveren, on the left bank of the Schelde, facing the port of Antwerp on the other side of the river. 2018–19 Belgian Cup
The 2018–19 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 64th season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 29 July 2018 and ended with the final in May 2019. The winners of the competition qualify for the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League Group Stage. Standard Liège were the defending champions. Competition format The competition consists of ten rounds. Except for the semi-finals, all rounds are single-match elimination rounds. When tied after 90 minutes in the first three rounds, penalties are taken immediately. In rounds four to seven and the quarterfinals, when tied after 90 minutes first an extra time period of 30 minutes are played, then penalties are taken if still necessary. The semi-finals will be played over two legs, where the team winning on aggregate advances. The final will be played as a single match. The Belgian Cup (french: link=no, Coupe de Belgique; nl, Beker van België []; german: link=no, Belgischer Fußballpokal) is the main Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in Belgium, run by the Belgian Football Association, Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Starting from 1912 only actual clubs were allowed to partake.
