"Guardian Angel" is a 1983 song by Drafi Deutscher under the pen name Masquerade. German and Italian cover versions, named "Jenseits von Eden" and "La valle dell'Eden" respectively, were released by Nino de Angelo in the same year. History The song was originally released by Drafi Deutscher under the pen name Masquerade. It charted in Germany as well as in several other nations and is the second most famous song by Deutscher after "''Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht''" (engl. Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks). In the UK, the song was released in a version sung by Nino de Angelo who had also recorded German and Italian covers (see below). De Angelo's version reached number 57 on the UK Singles Chart. The Eurovision Song Contest 1992 was the 37th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Carola. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (SVT), the contest was held at the Malmö Isstadion on 9 May 1992 and was hosted by Swedish journalists Lydia Capolicchio and Harald Treutiger. Twenty-three countries took part in the contest with the returning after being absent the year before. This set another record for the most participating countries in the history of the competition, which would be broken again the following year. The 1992 contest also saw the last participation of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as they were banned from competing only a few weeks later due to the Yugoslav Wars. Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the song "Keine Grenzen – Żadnych granic" written by André Franke, Joachim Horn-Bernges, Michał Wiśniewski and Jacek Łągwa. The song was performed by the band Ich Troje. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after a one-year absence following their withdrawal in 2002 as one of the bottom six countries in the 2001 contest. TVP organised the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Piosenki Eurowizji 2003'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2003 contest in Riga, Latvia. The national final took place on 25 January 2003 and featured fourteen entries.
