Joachim Friedmann
Joachim Friedmann (born 8 October 1966) is a German screenwriter, comic author, and video game writer. Early life The son of a German lecturer at Sapporo University, Joachim Friedmann grew up in Hokkaidō before moving to Marburg, Germany in 1971. Career He initially studied Art History, English and Japanese Studies between 1989 and 1995 where he completed a course in Cultural Studies in Hildesheim. In 2016, he was awarded a doctorate with a thesis on transmedial narrative from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). As a comic author, Friedmann published the story ''Seite 756'' with cartoonist Henk Wyniger, winning a prize at the Comic Salon in Erlangen, Germany. This was followed by a contract for Friedmann and Wyniger at the Carlsen publishing house with their own comic series based on the heroes Lais and Ben. ''Lindenstraße'' (literally "Linden Street") was a long-running German television drama series, broadcast by Das Erste. The first episode aired on 8 December 1985 and since then new episodes were broadcast weekly until 2020. Its last timeslot on Das Erste was Sundays at 18:50. The events of the Sunday episode usually take place on the Thursday before the show. This is a result of the original plan having been to show each episode on a Thursday night. Before the start of the series the programme's timeslot was switched to Sunday evening, but Thursday remained the day on which the events are normally shown as taking place, because the original concept of dramatizing the events of daily life as experienced by a group of characters on an ordinary weekday has continued unchanged. Plot The show is set in Essen, in the center of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Mick Brisgau, a homicide detective who was shot in the head on duty in the late 1980s and was then in a coma for 20 years. The show starts when he awakes suddenly from the coma and is allowed to return to his old job at the homicide department. As an old-school macho cop, he doesn't know about modern technology such as cellphones or computers, or modern investigation methods. He tries to deal with the modern world in general, and homicide cases in particular, as if it was still the 1980s. Hinter Gittern – Der Frauenknast (English language, English: "Behind bars - The Women's Prison", in short: HG or HiGi) was a German language, German television series in the form of a soap opera and told the dramaturgically oversubscribed-life in a prison for women. The series was broadcast from 22 September 1997 until 13 February 2007 at the private broadcaster RTL. The acts played in the fictional prison for women, ''Reutlitz'' in Berlin and included lesbian love affairs, drug deals, escape attempts, conflicts with sadistic prison guards, as well as crimes such as murder. RTL Television, RTL decided to cancel the long running drama after 16 seasons and 403 episodes. The last nine episodes were transmitted during the night at 01.05 AM. ''Klinik am Alex'' is a German television series. Klinik am Alex was the title of a television series by Sat.1. The series dealt with the medical staff of a clinic on Berlin's Alexanderplatz . The series was produced by teamWorx in the former building of the Heckeshorn lung clinic in Berlin-Wannsee. The international trade center (IHZ) on Friedrichstrasse served as the facade of the clinic. Since the ratings were below the channel average of Sat.1, the program with episode five was discontinued on February 26, 2009. The series returned on March 10, 2012 beginning with episode one in the program of Sat.1. However, the series only reached 1.11 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of 4.4%.
