Jinnah Courts
Jinnah Courts, formerly known as Leslie Wilson Muslim Hostel, is a heritage building and former hostel located at Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road, in the Civil Lines neighbourhood of Saddar, in South Karachi. It currently serves as the headquarters of paramilitary force Sindh Rangers. History Founded as the Leslie Wilson Muslim Hostel, named after Leslie Wilson, it was built using donations from citizens and provincial local bodies to accommodate students from across Sindh. The foundation stone was laid in June 1932, and the building was inaugurated in June 1933. In 1986, management of the building was handed over to the culture department, and the Rangers temporarily relocated their headquarters there in April 1999. Previously, the Rangers headquarters was located in the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre (SZIC) on University Road. Saddar Town
Saddar Town ( sd, صدر ٽائون; ur, ), lies in the central part of the city that formed much of the historic colonial core of Karachi. Saddar Town was formed in 2001 as part of The Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 union councils. The town system was disbanded in 2011, and Saddar Town was re-organized as part of Karachi South District in 2015. Mitha Ram Hostel
Mitha Ram Hostel, also spelled as Mitharam Hostel, is a historical building and former hostel in Karachi. It now serves as a sub-jail under the administration of Sindh Rangers since April 2015. History Mitha Ram Hostel shares a historical connection with D. J. Sindh Government Science College, which was established through the efforts of Indian lawyer, Dayaram Gidumal, in the late 1880s. Gidumal campaigned for the college's construction, as many Karachi students could not afford to travel to Bombay for education. Funded by both the Bombay and Karachi governments and private contributions, the college was completed in 1887 and named after Diaram Jethmal, whose family made a significant donation. The subsequent influx of students to Karachi necessitated the construction of a hostel.
