Jimmy Tansey
Jimmy Tansey (29 January 1929 – 7 July 2012) was an English professional footballer who played for Everton in the 1950s and Crewe Alexandra in the 1960s. His grandson, Greg Tansey, is also a footballer and most recently played for St Mirren Playing career Liverpool-born Tansey joined local club Everton as a youth team player in 1948, and made his first-team debut in a 2–2 draw against Notts County in 1953. He established himself as a first-team regular in the 1954–55 season, making 39 league appearances. He remained the club's first-choice left back until he was superseded by John Bramwell in the 1958–59 season. Crewe () is a railway town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. The Crewe built-up area had a total population of 75,556 in 2011, which also covers parts of the adjacent civil parishes of Willaston, Cheshire East, Willaston, Shavington cum Gresty and Wistaston. Greg Tansey
Gregory James Tansey (born 21 November 1988) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Tansey started his career at Stockport County, progressing through the youth system before making his first-team debut in 2006. He was loaned out to Conference National side Altrincham towards the latter stages of the 2007–08 season. Tansey spent six years at Stockport, becoming a permanent fixture in the side, as well as finishing as the club's top goalscorer during the 2010–11 campaign. He left Stockport in June 2011, joining Scottish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a free transfer. John Bramwell (footballer)
John Bramwell (born 1 March 1937 in Ashton-in-Makerfield) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Everton and Luton Town. Bramwell started his career at non-league Wigan Athletic, making 83 Lancashire Combination appearances for the club before moving to Everton for a fee of £3,500. He was known for his accurate passing on the field and wisecracking off the field. Bramwell replaced Jimmy Tansey at left-back in September 1958 and kept his place in the side for the rest of the season. He was a steady performer but lacked a bit of pace and over committed to challenges sometimes leaving him stranded. In his second season at Goodison John had to contest his place with Tommy Jones who had moved there for centre-half.
