Jimmy Mullen (golfer)
Jimmy Mullen (born 18 November 1993) is an English professional golfer. Mullen is from Devon, England. Playing as an amateur, he made the cut at the 2013 Open Championship. He and Matt Fitzpatrick were the only two amateurs to make the cut. He played on the Great Britain and Ireland team in the 2015 Walker Cup, winning all four of his matches. Mullen turned professional later in 2015 and made his professional debut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Bideford
Bideford ( ) is a historic port town on the estuary of the River Torridge in north Devon, south-west England. It is the main town of the Torridge local government district. Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested in odd-numbered years by leading male amateur golfers in two teams: United States, and Great Britain and Ireland. The official name is the Walker Cup Match (not "Matches" as in Ryder Cup Matches). It is organised by The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 1921 the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official annual contests from 1922 through 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on even-number years. After World War II they switched to odd-numbered years. They are held alternately in the U.S., and Ireland or Britain. 2015 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2015 European Amateur Team Championship took place 7–11 July at Halmstad Golf Club, in Tylösand, Sweden. It was the 32nd men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The tournament was played at the Halmstad Golf Club's North course in Tylösand, Halmstad Municipality, 9 kilometers west of Halmstad city center in Halland County, Sweden. The club was founded in 1930. Its first 18-hole course was constructed by Rafael Sundblom and approved in 1938. Another nine holes, constructed by Nils Sköld, was inaugurated in 1967. Together with the last nine holes of the old course, this formed the new course, called the North Course. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is one of the richest golf tournaments on the European Tour. It is played in September, on three different links courses, centred on the "home of golf", St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. The tournament is a pro-am, with the format based on the long-running United States PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am held annually since 1937 (except during the Second World War), where each team consists of one amateur and one professional. 2015 Walker Cup
The 45th Walker Cup Match was played on 12 and 13 September 2015 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, England. Great Britain and Ireland won 16½ to 9½. Format On Saturday, there are four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. On Sunday, there are again four matches of foursomes in the morning, followed by ten singles matches in the afternoon. In all, 26 matches are played. Each of the 26 matches is worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match is all square after the 18th hole extra holes are not played. Rather, each side earns ½ a point toward their team total. The team that accumulates at least 13½ points wins the competition. In the event of a tie, the current holder retains the Cup.
