Jim McGregor
Jim McGregor (born December 6, 1948) is a Republican politician who was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 20th District from 2001 to 2008. Life and career Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, McGregor graduated from the University of Cincinnati and served in the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1975. He worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources from 1972 to 1983, after a short tenure with the Parks and Recreation Department of Lebanon, Ohio. McGregor went on to become mayor of Gahanna, Ohio in 1983, and served for 18 years, being elected five times. He is married to Nancy McGregor, and they have three children. Lebanon, Ohio
Lebanon is a city in and the county seat of Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 20,841 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. History Lebanon is in the Symmes Purchase. The first European settler in what is now Lebanon was Ichabod Corwin, uncle of Ohio Governor Thomas Corwin, who came to Ohio from Bourbon County, Kentucky, and settled on the north branch of Turtle Creek in March 1796. The site of his cabin is now on the grounds of Berry Intermediate School on North Broadway and is marked with a monument erected by the Warren County Historical Society. ''The Columbus Dispatch'' is a daily newspaper based in Columbus, Ohio. Its first issue was published on July 1, 1871, and it has been the only mainstream daily newspaper in the city since ''The Columbus Citizen-Journal'' ceased publication in 1985. Ohio Senate
The Ohio Senate is the upper house of the Ohio General Assembly. The State Senate, which meets in the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, first convened in 1803. Senators are elected for four year terms, staggered every two years such that half of the seats are contested at each election. Even numbered seats and odd numbered seats are contested in separate election years. The president of the Ohio Senate presides over the body when in session, and is currently Matt Huffman. Currently, the Senate consists of 25 Republicans and eight Democrats, with the Republicans controlling three more seats than the 22 required for a supermajority vote. David Goodman (politician)
David Goodman (born February 13, 1967) is Republican politician who serves as the director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, the state's economic development department. He served as the director of the Ohio Department of Commerce from January 2011 until March 2013. He has also served in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly. Life and career A former assistant Ohio Attorney General, he served on Bexley City Council from 1995 to 1998. Goodman was appointed to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1998 to succeed Jim Mason, who had resigned. He won election to a full term in 1998, and again in 2000. The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today.
