Jim Mackonochie
Jim Mackonochie (died 23 April 2013) was a British Royal Navy officer who became a leading figure in the development of combat flight simulation video games. He founded the game publisher Mirrorsoft in 1982. Combat Flight Simulator
Combat flight simulators are vehicle simulation games, amateur flight simulation computer programs used to simulate military aircraft and their operations. These are distinct from dedicated flight simulators used for professional pilot and military flight training which consist of realistic physical recreations of the actual aircraft cockpit, often with a full-motion platform. ''Rock Paper Shotgun'' (also rendered ''Rock, Paper, Shotgun''; short ''RPS'') is a UK-based website for reporting on video games, primarily for PC. Originally launched on 13 July 2007 as an independent site, ''Rock Paper Shotgun'' was acquired and brought into the Gamer Network, a network of sites led by ''Eurogamer'' in May 2017. Eagle Dynamics (often abbreviated as ED) is a software company originally founded by Nick Grey and Igor Tishin in 1991. Originally located in Moscow, Russia, it is now headquartered in Villars-sur-Glâne, Switzerland. The Fighter Collection
The Fighter Collection is a private operator of airworthy vintage military aircraft or warbirds. It is based in the United Kingdom at Duxford Aerodrome in Cambridgeshire, an airfield that is owned by the Imperial War Museum and is also the site of the Imperial War Museum Duxford. It is registered as a Private limited company. The Fighter Collection is owned by and was founded by Stephen Grey, a businessman and former RAF pilot domiciled in Monaco. The aircraft are stored and maintained in Hangar 2 at Duxford Aerodrome; the hangar is accessible to visitors of the Imperial War Museum.
