Jim Fryatt
James Fryatt (2 September 1940 – 5 June 2020) was an English footballer who played as a striker. During his playing career he was nicknamed ''Pancho''. Football League A regular scorer for all of his club sides, the stockily built forward was the archetypal journeyman, spending most of his career switching between lower league sides. However whilst appearing for Bradford Park Avenue against Tranmere Rovers on 25 April 1964 Fryatt established a Football League record by scoring after only four seconds, the fastest goal in the competition's history. Fryatt was well regarded for his time at Stockport County, where his strike partnership with Bill Atkins was so formidable that the two have been inducted into the club's Hall of Fame as a unit. Fryatt signed for Oldham Athletic from Blackburn Rovers for a sum of £8,000 in 1970 and although he only spent 21 months at Boundary Park, he became an instant hit and legend among supporters for scoring 42 goals in 81 appearances in all ... Tranmere Rovers
Tranmere Rovers Football Club is a professional association football club based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. The team compete in , the fourth tier of the English football league system. Founded in 1884 as Belmont Football Club, they adopted their current name in 1885. Ed Fryatt
Edward George Fryatt (born 8 April 1971) is an English professional golfer. His father Jim Fryatt was a professional footballer for a number of English clubs. Fryatt was born in Rochdale. At the age of four he moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada, where his father was coaching. He took up golf at the age of 13, before attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas in his home town, and turning professional when he graduated in 1994. Fryatt's ex-wife Michelle was named Mrs International in 2003; they have one adopted daughter, Faith. Career Fryatt joined the Nike Tour in 1995, but after an unsuccessful first season opted to play in Asia, where he won four times in three years on the Asia Golf Circuit and the Asian Tour. In 1999, he returned to the Nike Tour, and won once on his way to earning promotion to the full PGA Tour for the first time. Overview Fifteen teams comprised the league with the Los Angeles Aztecs winning the championship in a penalty kick shootout over the Miami Toros. Changes from the previous season Rules changes The league decided to do away with tie games. If a match was tied after 90 minutes, the teams would go directly to a standard penalty shootout with no extra time played. The outcome would appear in the standings as a 'tie-win'. The tie-winner would gain three points, plus goals in regulation, while the loser of the tie-breaker received no points, except for regulation goals. During the season, Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz from Vera Cruz, Mexico, played each of the nine NASL clubs in exhibition games that counted in the league's final standings. The 1973 season would be the last season in which games from non-league clubs counted in league standings. A week before the NASL Final 1973, commissioner Phil Woosnam announced that no team in the league made a profit during the season. Boundary Park
Boundary Park is a football stadium in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. Its name originates from the fact that it lies at the northwestern extremity of Oldham, with Royton and Chadderton lying immediately north and west respectively. Boundary Park was originally known as the Athletic Ground when it was opened in 1896 for Oldham's first professional football club, Oldham County F.C.. When County folded in 1899, Pine Villa F.C. took over the ground and changed their name to Oldham Athletic. Oldham Athletic A.F.C. have played their home games here since the stadium was opened.
