Jim Ananich
James Ananich ( ; born September 20, 1975) is a politician from the State of Michigan. He is a Democratic Party member of the Michigan State Senate representing the 27th district, which is located in Genesee County and includes the cities Burton, Clio, Flint, Mount Morris and Swartz Creek and the townships of Flint Township, Forest, Genesee, Mount Morris, Richfield, Thetford and Vienna. Early life James "Jim" Ananich was born to James and Susan Ananich as their only child. They raised him in Flint. His father was Flint City Ombudsman. In 1986, Jim's mother died. Thus the following year his father resigned as ombudsman to teach policy science at University of Michigan-Flint. He attend Flint Central where he played basketball and tennis. Michigan's 27th Senate District
Michigan's 27th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 27th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Democrat John Cherry III since 2023, succeeding fellow Democrat Jim Ananich. The Michigan Senate is the upper house of the Michigan Legislature. Along with the Michigan House of Representatives, it composes the state legislature, which has powers, roles and duties defined by Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963. Clio, Michigan
Clio () is a city in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The city is located entirely within Vienna Township, but is administratively autonomous. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 2,646. Along with the rest of Genesee County, Clio is part of the Flint metropolitan statistical area. History The location was first settled in 1837 by Theodore P. Dean. Originally named Varna after the city's first grain buyer. Pere Marquette Railroad came through and put a station there in 1861.
