Jiang Yibing
Jiang Yibing (born February 17, 1970) is a Chinese figure skater. She represented China at the 1988 Winter Olympics, where she placed 25th. She also competed at the 1985 World Figure Skating Championships, where she placed 23rd. Following her retirement from competitive skating, she served as an international and ISU Judge, and as an ISU Technical Specialist for China. After coaching for many years in China, she moved to Canada and began coaching there in March 2007 under the name Jennifer Jiang. Figure Skater
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. The Olympic disciplines are men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance; the four individual disciplines are also combined into a team event, first included in the Winter Olympics in 2014. The non-Olympic disciplines include synchronized skating, Theater on Ice, and four skating. World Figure Skating Championships
The World Figure Skating Championships (''"Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the categories of single skating, men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating. ISU Technical Specialist
The ISU Judging System (or the International Judging System (IJS)), occasionally referred to as the Code of Points (COP) system, is the scoring system that has been used since 2004 to judge the figure skating disciplines of men's and ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dance, and synchronized skating. It was designed and implemented by the International Skating Union (ISU), the ruling body of the sport. This system of scoring is used in all international competitions sanctioned by the ISU, including the Olympic Games. The ISU Judging System replaced the previous 6.0 system. It was created in part in response to the 2002 Winter Olympics figure skating scandal, in an attempt to make the scoring system more objective and less vulnerable to abuse. Mira Leung
Mira Leung (born March 28, 1989) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2004 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medallist and a three-time Canadian national silver medallist (2006–2008). Leung placed 12th at the 2006 Winter Olympics and 5th at the 2008 Four Continents. She now works for Google as a software engineering manager. Personal life Mira Leung was born on March 28, 1989 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Jennifer and Raymond Leung, a computer programmer. She attended Trafalgar Elementary School in Vancouver, enrolled in the French immersion program. She began playing the piano at age three and studied it through grade 10. She graduated from high school in 2008. Career Mira Leung started skating at age three and began taking lessons two years later. The NHK Trophy is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Organized by the Japanese Skating Federation, it began in 1979 and was added to the Grand Prix series in 1995, the series' inaugural year.
