Jhonny Vásquez
Jhonny Vásquez (born 23 July 1987) is a Colombian footballer. He currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Deportivo Pereira in the Categoría Primera A; he also served as the club's captain still 2023. Personal life In 2015 while he was playing for Junior de Barranquilla, he was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia); fortunately he managed to overcome that disease, although Vásquez has revealed that he had problems getting medicines during the COVID 19 pandemic. The Copa Colombia ( en, Colombia Cup, link=yes); officially known as Copa BetPlay Dimayor is an annual football tournament in Colombia. It is contested by the 36 professional clubs of DIMAYOR and is the nation's domestic cup competition, equivalent to the FA Cup in England or the Copa del Rey in Spain. The Copa Colombia was played for the first time in 1950, and it has been played consecutively since its revival in 2008. The most successful club is Atlético Nacional, with four titles. The 2022 Categoría Primera A season (officially known as the 2022 Liga BetPlay Dimayor season for sponsorship reasons) was the 75th season of the Categoría Primera A, Colombia's top-flight football league. The season began on 20 January and ended on 7 December 2022. Deportivo Cali were the defending champions, having won the 2021 Finalización tournament. Two tournaments (Apertura and Finalización) were played in the season, each one of them being an independent championship. In the Torneo Apertura Atlético Nacional won their seventeenth league title, beating Deportes Tolima in the finals by a 4–3 aggregate score after winning the first leg in Medellín by a 3–1 score and losing the return leg in Ibagué by two goals to one, and in the Torneo Finalización Deportivo Pereira were the champions, winning their first league title after beating Independiente Medellín on penalties following a 1–1 draw on aggregate in the finals. The 2016 Categoría Primera B season (officially known as the 2016 Torneo Águila season for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season since its founding. Format The league retained the format used in the most recent season. The tournament was played in a year-round competition with the 16 teams playing the other teams twice on a home-and-away basis and playing a regional rival twice more for a total of 32 matches. The top eight teams after the thirty-two rounds advanced to the Semifinal round where the eight teams were sorted into two groups of four and played a double Round-robin tournament group stage.
