Jetzons
The Jetzons were an American New wave music, new wave band from Tempe, Arizona. The band comprised guitarist Bruce Connole, keyboardist Brad Buxer, bassist Damon Doiron and drummer Steve Golladay. After the band separated, Buxer became the musical director for Michael Jackson. An unreleased Jetzons song, "Hard Times", was rewritten for use in the 1994 video game ''Sonic the Hedgehog 3.'' History The Jetzons formed in 1981 after the demise of punk group Billy Clone & the Same, which disbanded due to the heroin overdose and death of bandleader Mike Corte. Former Billy Clone guitarist Bruce Connole and bassist Damon Doiron performed briefly as the Burning Flamingos before adding keyboardist Brad Buxer and drummer Steve Golladay to form the Jetzons. Bruce Connole
Bruce Connole (born November 6, 1958) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was the lead singer for the Jetzons and several other bands based in the Southwest United States. Biography Bruce Connole was born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Arizona when he was only 3 years old, and lived there for most of his life. As a young teen, he ran away from home many times, which made it difficult to complete high school. During his sophomore year he dropped out of East High School (Phoenix, Arizona), East High School in Phoenix. The Beatles were one of the reasons why he started practicing guitar at the age of 10. Connole spent much of his adult music career fluctuating between times of sobriety and times of depression and drug abuse. When he was clean, he formed bands and wrote music, but when he relapsed, the bands and their momentum would typically fall apart. Brad Buxer
Bradley Buxer is an American keyboardist and composer, known for his many collaborations with the American musician Michael Jackson. In addition to recording with Jackson, Buxer was also the musical director for Jackson's tours for many years. Prior to that, he was a session musician for artists such as Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson and a member of the new wave band the Jetzons. In the 2000s, he reunited with former Jetzons bandmate Bruce Connole in The Suicide Kings. Buxer was contracted by Jackson to write music for the 1994 video game ''Sonic the Hedgehog 3''. He assembled a team composed of Bobby Brooks, Darryl Ross, Geoff Grace, Doug Grigsby III, and Cirocco Jones to assist him and Jackson. The theme of the game's IceCap Zone stage is an instrumental version of the then-unreleased 1981 song "Hard Times" by the Jetzons, of which Buxer was a member. Douglas Owen Hopkins (April 11, 1961 – December 5, 1993) was an American musician and songwriter. He co-founded Gin Blossoms, a popular modern rock band of the early 1990s, with Richard Taylor. He was the band's lead guitarist and a principal songwriter. Hopkins' writing credits included the hits "Hey Jealousy", "Found Out About You", "Hold Me Down", and "Lost Horizons (Gin Blossoms song), Lost Horizons".
