Jett Rebel
Jett Rebel is the stage name of Dutch musician Jelte Steven Tuinstra (born January 24, 1991, in Den Haag). Tuinstra is a singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist. The moniker Jett Rebel refers to a solo artist who performs live in different band formations in the Dutch music scene. Background Tuinstra was born on January 24, 1991, in Den Haag. His parents played in socialist music groups and choirs ('' Verenigde Oost Nederlandse Kompanjie'', also known as VONK) with which they also performed demonstrations against racism, nuclear energy, and weapons. ''Venus & Mars'' is the first studio album by Dutch pop singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jett Rebel, released by the record label Sony Music Entertainment on April 19, 2014 in the Netherlands. The album is composed of his first two EPs, ''Venus'' and ''Mars''.Venus was released on May 26, 2013 and Mars on January 15, 2014. Two new songs have been added to the album, "#" and bonus track " On Top of the World", the bonus track for ''The Amazing Spider-Man 2''. On April 19, 2014, these EPs were combined for one album. ''Hits for Kids'' is the official debut album by Dutch singer and multi-instrumentalist Jett Rebel and his second studio album. The album was scheduled for release on October 31, 2014, through Sony Music Entertainment, but Rebel decided to release it the day before on various streaming services , on October 30, 2014. '' Pineapple Morning'' was the first and only single released on October 30, 2014. Recording Rebel got help from Tony Platt in making essential choices. The renowned producer/mixer Tony Platt gave the necessary advice and did the mix in his Platinum Tones studio in London. ''Hits for Kids'' was recorded in Soesterberg in his former old house and home studio. Rebel played all the instruments himself. ''Hits for kids'' was the last record Rebel recorded digitally. It was released on January 22, 2016 and is the first of three albums that Jett Rebel has released within the year. Graham Central Station was an American funk band named after founder Larry Graham (formerly of Sly and the Family Stone). The name is a pun on New York City's Grand Central Terminal, often colloquially called Grand Central Station. History Origins The band's origins date from when Santana guitarist Neal Schon formed the band Azteca in 1972 along with Larry Graham (bass guitar) and Gregg Errico ( drums), both from Sly and the Family Stone, and Pete Sears (keyboards), from Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship. Larry Graham
Larry Graham Jr. (born August 14, 1946) is an American bassist and baritone singer, both with the psychedelic soul/funk band Sly and the Family Stone and as the founder and frontman of Graham Central Station. In 1980, he released the single "One in a Million You", which reached the top ten on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. He is credited with the invention of the slapping technique on the electric bass guitar, which radically expanded the tonal palette of the bass, although he himself refers to the technique as "thumpin' and pluckin' ". In 1993, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Sly and the Family Stone. He is also the uncle of rapper Drake. Pinkpop
The Pinkpop Festival is an annual music festival held at Landgraaf, Netherlands. It is usually held on the Pentecost weekend (''Pinksteren'' in Dutch, hence the name). If Pentecost falls on an early date in May, the festival is held later in June. Starting in 1970, at Burgemeester Damen Sportpark in the city of Geleen, Pinkpop is the oldest and longest running annual dedicated pop and rock music festival in the world. Nowadays, Pinkpop is a three-day festival, from Saturday through Monday when on Pentecost weekend, or Friday through Sunday otherwise, with a 60,000 people per day capacity, and with performances on 4 separate stages. NPO 3FM is a Dutch rhythmic CHR radio station controlled by public broadcaster NPO. The vast majority of the songs played on-air are rock, alternative, indie and pop, though dance and Mega Top 30 tracks may also air at times. The B-52's
The B-52's, also styled as The B-52s, are an American new wave band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. The original lineup consisted of Fred Schneider (vocals, percussion), Kate Pierson (vocals, keyboards, synth bass), Cindy Wilson (vocals, percussion), Ricky Wilson (guitar), and Keith Strickland (drums, guitar, keyboards). Ricky Wilson died of AIDS-related illness in 1985, and Strickland switched from drums to lead guitar. The band also added various members for albums and live performances. The group evoked a "thrift shop aesthetic", in Bernard Gendron's words, by drawing from 1950s and 1960s pop sources, trash culture, and rock and roll. ''De Wereld Draait Door'' (; English: "The world keeps on turning") also known by the acronym DWDD was an early-evening talk show on Dutch television, broadcast every weekday at 7:00 p.m. on NPO 1.
