Jesús Gallardo
Jesús Daniel Gallardo Vasconcelos (born 15 August 1994) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Liga MX club Monterrey and the Mexico national team. Club career Youth Gallardo began his career at 15 years old with Once Hermanos from 2009, until making the switch to Jaguares de la 48 in 2011, and ultimately getting the attention of first division team Club Universidad Nacional. From there, in 2013, he joined Pumas UNAM youth academy, successfully going through the U-20 team and Pumas Morelos. UNAM In 2014, Gallardo was eventually promoted to the first team by coach Guillermo Vázquez. The Mexico national football team () represents Mexico in international football and is governed by the Mexican Football Federation (). It competes as a member of CONCACAF. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. 2019–20 Copa MX
The 2019–20 Copa MX was the 82nd staging of the Copa MX, the 54th staging in the professional era and the fifteenth tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. The tournament started on 30 July 2019 and ended on 4 November 2020. It marked the first year since it was restored in 2012 that only one tournament will be played in the Mexican football year. In previous years, two tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) were played throughout the year. América were the defending champions after they defeated Juárez 0–1 in the Clausura 2019 final. The winners would have qualified for the 2020 Leagues Cup. However, the Leagues Cup was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America. The Apertura 2019 Liga MX championship stage commonly known as ''Liguilla'' (mini league) was played from 27 November 2019 to 29 December 2019. Clásico Regiomontano, Clásico Regio, Clásico del Norte or Clásico Norteño is a football derby in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, between crosstown rival teams Monterrey and Tigres. Since the first Clásico in 1974, the two teams have competed over 100 times for bragging rights and city honour. It is known for being one of the most intensely competed derbies in Mexican football, even being regarded by people in the city of Monterrey and Northern Mexico as the most important Mexican derby. The match is the biggest game of the season in Monterrey, and every year, fans wait in line for days outside the stadium just to get tickets, which are often priced at two or three times their regular value. The Apertura 2018 Copa MX was the 80th staging of the Copa MX, the 52nd staging in the professional era and is the thirteenth tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. The tournament started on 24 July 2018 and ended on 31 October 2018. The final was held at Estadio BBVA Bancomer in the Monterrey suburb of Guadalupe with the visiting team Cruz Azul defeating Monterrey 2–0 to win their fourth title.
