Jesus Muñoz Crespo
Jesus Muñoz Crespo (11 September 1899 – 11 September 1979) was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward. Career Crespo arrived at Benfica in 1917, at the age of 18. He made his official debut in the first game of the 1917–18 edition of the Campeonato de Lisboa, on 16 December 1917. Capable of playing either as inside forward or centre-forward, in a 2-3-5 formation, he was mainly used as inside forward and partnered with José Simões, while both supported players like Alberto Augusto, Tavares, or Mário Carvalho. On 16 December 1923, he received his only cap, in a 0-3 loss against Spain played on Avenida de la Reina Victoria, Sevilla. Over the course of 12 seasons, he played more than 100 matches, a club record at that time, retiring at age 30, with his last match on 24 February 1929. Taça de Honra (Honour Cup) is a Portuguese friendly football tournament played between teams of the Lisbon Football Association (AFL). It is the third oldest competition in Portugal after the championships of Lisbon and Porto. The format has varied, and before the 1959–60 season, the trophy was mostly given to the winner of the Lisbon championship. Afterwards, it was played as a four-team elimination tournament during pre-season, between the best-placed Lisbon teams in championships disputed in the previous season. After 20 years of inactivity, the competition returned for two years: 2014 and 2015. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. Jorge Gonçalves Tavares
Jorge Gonçalves Tavares (21 January 1905 – 1951) was a Portuguese footballer who played as a forward. Club career Tavares joined S.L. Benfica at the age of 19. He made his official debut on 19 October 1924, against C.F. Os Belenenses. Used mainly as a centre forward, Tavares was consistently was one of the Lisbon team's top scorers, ranking first in the 1924–25 and 1925–26 seasons. He helped the club conquer its first national titles, the 1930 and 1931 Campeonato de Portugal, and retired on 26 January 1932 at the age of 27.
