Jesus Cristo Basquetebol, also known as Jesus Christ Basketball or simply J.C., is an Angolan basketball team based in Viana, Luanda Province. The team was founded in 2021 and entered the top flight Angolan Basketball League in the 2021 season. The team's name was chosen because the team mainly consists of Catholic players. In their debut season, Jesus Cristo finished in the 9th and last place. Petro De Luanda (basketball)
Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, commonly known as Petro de Luanda, is an Angolan basketball club based in Luanda. It competes at the local level, at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship and at the Angola National Basketball Championship. Additionally, the club plays at the continental level, at the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established in 1976, the team is part of a multi-sports club which includes a football and handball team as well. Petro has been one of the most successful teams in Angola, having won the second most Angolan championships with 15, trailing only Primeiro de Agosto. The 2022–23 Angolan Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons known as the 2022–23 Unitel Basket, was the 45th season of the Angolan Basketball League, the highest premier basketball league in Angola. The season consisted of thirteen teams and began on 21 October 2022 and ended on 19 April 2023 with the conclusion of the finals. The format of the previous season stayed mostly the same. The 2023–24 Angolan Basketball League (known as Unitel Basket for sponsorship reasons) is the 46th season of the Angolan Basketball League, the highest level men's basketball league in Angola. The competition began on 21 October 2023 and finished on 12 May 2024. Petro de Luanda successfully defended its title and won its fifth consecutive league championship, and their fifteenth in club history.
