	Ben Jesson Benjamin Jesson (born 19 February 1988) is a British sport shooter. In 2012 he represented Great Britain at the Summer Paralympics in London taking part in the Mixed R6–50 m rifle prone SH1. Personal history Jesson was born in Redhill, England in 1988. At the age of 15 he was diagnosed with Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease a hereditary nervous system disorder, which caused foot drop in both of his feet. He attended Hazelwick School in Crawley, later matriculating to Aberdeen University where he achieved a degree in marine biology. Shooting career Jesson was introduced to both sports shooting and archery at Aberdeen University in 2006. He decided to focus on shooting because it piqued his interests the most, finding it mentally challenging. Classified as an SH1 athlete, Jesson joined the Great Britain shooting team in 2011 and that year competed in his first major international competition, the 2011 IPC World Cup in Alicante. Early life Bruce Edward Jesson was the son of Victor John and Edna Cavell (née Taylor) Jesson and the great-grandson of an immigrant from Leicestershire in England. He was educated at Christchurch Boys' High School (where he read Darwin's ''Origin of Species'' while a "lab boy" in the biology laboratory and became an atheist) and the University of Canterbury, where he gained a bachelor's degree in law. 	Charles Jesson Cornelius (Charles) Jesson (1 June 1862 – 21 September 1926) was a British politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Walthamstow West from 1918 to 1922. Born in Leicester, Jesson was the son of a boot and shoe manufacturer. He trained as a musician and was elected in a 1906 by-election to the London County Council, representing the Walworth division of Newington. Jesson represented Walworth on the LCC until he stood down in 1919. Jesson also became an organiser for the Amalgamated Society of Musicians (later to become the Musicians' Union). The son of Robert Jesson, a solicitor's clerk, he was born at Southampton in June 1886. He was firstly educated in Southampton at Handel College, before attending Sherborne School, where he played for the school cricket team. From Sherborne, he matriculated to Merton College, Oxford. 	William Jesson William Jesson (1580 – 1651) was an English dyer and politician who was active in local government in Coventry and sat in the House of Commons between 1640 and 1648. Jesson was the son of Richard Jesson of Coventry and his wife Elizabeth Hill. He became a wealthy dyer of Coventry and was admitted to the council 1628, becoming mayor of Coventry in 1631 and an alderman from 1634. In 1640 Jesson purchased the Warwickshire manor of Nuthurst from Edward Trussell and it remained in the family until around 1754. In April 1640, Jesson was elected Member of Parliament for Coventry in the Short Parliament. His uncle and fellow MP Simon Norton was also a dyer and together they helped defeat the aims of a Coventry weaver who petitioned Parliament against cloth from Gloucestershire being brought into the city for dyeing.
