Jesper Williamsson (born April 23, 1990) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played with HV71 and Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Williamsson made his Elitserien debut playing with HV71 during the 2008–09 Elitserien season. He left HV71 in 2015 and joined Rögle BK. On August 2, 2017, Williamsson signed a one-year extension with Rögle BK. HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and also participates in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Taylor Matson
Taylor Matson (born September 16, 1988) is an American professional ice hockey player currently playing for HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was drafted 176th overall by Vancouver Canucks in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, Matson spent four years at the University of Minnesota and in the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL. Playing career Matson was a two sport athlete at the Academy of Holy Angels, playing both tennis and ice hockey. In 2005, Matson led his schools hockey team to the 2005 Class AA state hockey championship. Although he was drafted 25th overall in the 2005 United States Hockey League (USHL) Draft by the Sioux Falls Stampede, Matson chose to complete high school before joining the USHL. Ted Brithén (born November 25, 1990) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward. He is currently playing with Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). 2008–09 Elitserien Season
The 2008–09 Elitserien season was the 34th season of Elitserien. It began on September 15, 2008, with the regular season ending February 28, 2009. The playoffs of the 85th Swedish Championship ended on April 8, with Färjestads BK taking the championship. The season started earlier than previous seasons due to the 2009 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships in Switzerland had been scheduled earlier than normal. League business The match start time for Saturday matches was changed to start at 16:00 local time (UTC+1) instead of 15:00 as in previous seasons. Regular season Djurgårdens IF changed their arena for home matches from Stockholm Globe Arena to Hovet. Also, Rögle BK changed to a new arena, Lindab Arena in Ängelholm.
