Jesper Nelin (born 3 October 1992) is a Swedish biathlete. He competed in the World Cup, and represented Sweden during the 2016 World Championships in Oslo, Norway. His Olympic results include winning a gold medal in the biathlon relay in 2018 with the Swedish team, along with Peppe Femling, Sebastian Samuelsson Sebastian Samuelsson (born 28 March 1997) is a Swedish biathlete who competes internationally. Värnamo
Värnamo (), historically known as Wernamo, is a town in Jönköping County in the south of Sweden. It is situated on the river Lagan just north of the lake Vidöstern. It is the seat of Värnamo Municipality and has 19,778 inhabitants as of 31 December 2020. The name comes from old Swedish ''värn'' (sconce) and ''mo'' (sandy flat land). History Värnamo traces its history back to a village in the medieval age; the first written mention of it stems from the 13th century. It came into existence as a village to the eastern side of a fordable place over the Lagan, a river that for large parts is difficult to travel by. The Biathlon World Championships 2020 took place in Rasen-Antholz, Italy, from 12 to 23 February 2020. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Antholz-Anterselva won the voting (30 votes) during the twelfth IBU Congress in Chișinău over Pokljuka (15 votes) and Oberhof, Germany (four votes). The 49th Biathlon World Championships was held from 9 to 19 February 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also count for the Biathlon World Cup season. Host selection The second candidate city was Östersund, Sweden. Hochfilzen was selected as the host city on September 2 2012 during the X IBU Congress in Merano, Italy (27 to 20 votes). Biathlon at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the National Biathlon Centre, in the Zhangjiakou cluster of competition venues, north of Beijing, at an elevation of , from 5 to 18 February 2022. A total of 210 quota spots (110 per gender) were distributed to the sport, a decline of 20 from the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of 11 events were contested, five for men, five for women and one mixed. Qualification A total quota of 210 athletes are allowed at the Games (105 both men and women). The first 93 quota allocations, per gender, will be assigned using a combination of the Nation Cup scores of their top 3 athletes in their best six sprints, one individual, three relays, one mixed relay, and one single mixed relay.
