Jesper Drost
Jesper Drost (born 11 January 1993) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a attacking midfielder for HHC Hardenberg. Club career Drost was born in Nunspeet. He joined FC Groningen from PEC Zwolle in summer 2015. He then moved to Heracles Almelo and back to PEC Zwolle. On 31 August 2021, he moved to the third-tier club HHC Hardenberg. Personal life Drost was accused of attempted manslaughter, after he allegedly drove into two men with his car after a fight in a bar in Steenwijk in 2014. In December 2015 he was sentenced to do 50 hours of community service. FC Groningen
Football Club Groningen () is a Dutch professional association football club based in Groningen, province of Groningen. Founded on 16 June 1971 as the successor of GVAV, the team compete in the Eredivisie, the highest tier of Dutch football. Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, before the side were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973–74 as they got into financial difficulties. Groningen were promoted back to the Eredivisie as champions in 1979–80 and remained in the top flight for almost 20 seasons before they dropped to the second tier in 1997–98. The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. The Johan Cruyff Shield (, ) is a football trophy in the Netherlands named after Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff, also often referred to as the Dutch Super Cup. The winner is decided in one match only, played by the winner of the national football league, Eredivisie, and the winner of the national KNVB Cup. In the event of a team winning both the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup, the Johan Cruyff Shield will be contested between that team and the runner up in the national league. The 2013–14 KNVB Cup was the 96th season of the Dutch national football knockout tournament. The competition began on 28 August 2013 in the first round and concluded with the final on 20 April 2014.
