Jericho (2000 Film)
''Jericho'' is an American Western film, produced by Black Night Productions and released in October 2000 starring Mark Valley and directed by Merlin Miller. The filming took place in Alamo Village, Highway 674, Brackettville, Texas, in the United States of America. Jericho, played by Mark Valley, wakes up with no memory, but it's apparent that he's quite skilled with a gun. He is befriended by Joshua (Leon Coffee), who appears to be his polar opposite: He's a black man and true believer in the Lord, whereas Jericho is white and doubtful of everything, especially himself. Side by side, they attempt to piece together the amnesiac's past, which may or may not have something to do with a robbery, and either way is somehow connected to a town that's also called Jericho. Merlin L. Miller (born 1956) is an American paleoconservative political activist, independent film director, writer, and producer. His works include the television film ''A Place to Grow'' (1998), starring Gary Morris, and the film '' Jericho'' (2000), starring Mark Valley. Alamo Village
Alamo Village is a movie set and tourist attraction north of Brackettville, Texas, United States. It was the first movie location built in Texas, originally constructed for and best known as the setting for '' The Alamo'' (1960), directed by John Wayne and starring Wayne, Richard Widmark, Laurence Harvey and Frankie Avalon. History The set was built by James T. "Happy" Shahan of Brackettville, who in 1995 was named the "Father of the Texas movie industry" by Governor George W. Bush. Shahan began building the set on his ranch in September, 1957 for Wayne, who had tried for years to make a movie about the Battle of the Alamo for Republic Pictures, before finally breaking away to form Batjac Productions. Brackettville, Texas
Brackettville is a city in Kinney County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,688 at the 2010 census, down from 1,876 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Kinney County. History Founded in 1852 as "Las Moras" (the name of a nearby spring and the creek it feeds), the town initially was a supply stop on the old San Antonio- El Paso road and a supply depot for the U.S. Army's Fort Clark (the fort was established the same year). Later the town was named "Brackett" after Oscar B. Brackett, the owner of the first dry goods store in the area. In 1873, when a post office was awarded, "ville" was appended to the name to differentiate it from another town. Buck Taylor (born May 13, 1938) is an American actor and artist, best known for his role as gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brian in the CBS television series ''Gunsmoke''.
