Buck Taylor
Buck Taylor (born May 13, 1938) is an American actor and artist, best known for his role as gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brian in the CBS television series ''Gunsmoke''. He is the son of Florence Gertrude Heffernan and character actor Dub Taylor. Taylor graduated from North Hollywood High School, where he became a talented gymnast. Actor Guinn "Big Boy" Williams sponsored him to go to the U.S. Olympic Trials as a gymnast, but he failed to qualify for the 1960 Summer Olympics. He served two years in the United States Navy. His first important acting role was as Trooper Shattuck in the 1961'' Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre'' episode "Image of a Drawn Sword". Roger Ewing
Roger Lawrence Ewing (born January 12, 1942) is an American film and television actor. He is perhaps best known for playing Clayton Thaddeus Greenwood in the American western television series ''Gunsmoke''. Early life Ewing was born in Los Angeles, California in 1942. Career Ewing began his career in 1964, appearing in the film ''Ensign Pulver'', playing Jackson. He also guest-starred in television programs including '' Rawhide'', '' The Farmer's Daughter'', ''Bewitched'', '' The Eleventh Hour'' and ''Room 222''. In 1965, Ewing guest-starred in the western television series ''Gunsmoke'', first appearing in the episode "Song for Dying". Ewing's performance in ''Gunsmoke'' impressed the producers. William Gamble (general)
William Gamble (1 January 1818 – 20 December 1866) was a civil engineer and a United States Army cavalry officer. He served during the Second Seminole War, and fought for the Union during the American Civil War. He commanded one of two brigades in Brigadier General John Buford's Division of Cavalry, in which he played an important role in defending Union positions during the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg. Early life Gamble was born in the townland of Duross, Lisnarick, County Fermanagh, Ireland. He studied civil engineering, worked in the Queen's Surveying Office, and participated in the Northern Ireland survey. He emigrated to the United States in 1838. Since he had experience as a dragoon in the British army, he enlisted as a private in the 1st U.S. Dragoons and rose through the ranks to become Sergeant Major by 1839. Plot The film opens with the Teale family moving west on a wagon into Indian Territory. They reach their home, and plan to go into the cattle business. The father, Jacob, rides out to procure the cattle, promising to return in a month. However, he is killed along the way when his horse falls over on him, and he bleeds to death internally. Meanwhile, a stagecoach passes by the Teale farm; Evie Teale agrees to work for the stagecoach by feeding customers.
