Jens Carsten Jantzen
Jens Carsten Jantzen (born 18 October 1948, in Störtewerkerkoog, Nordfriesland) is a mathematician working on representation theory and algebraic groups, who introduced the Jantzen filtration, the Jantzen sum formula, and translation functors. In 2012 he became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society. His doctoral students include Wolfgang Soergel. Walter Borho (born 17 December 1945, in Hamburg) is a German mathematician, who works on algebra and number theory. Borho received his PhD in 1973 from the University of Hamburg under the direction of Ernst Witt with thesis ''Wesentliche ganze Erweiterungen kommutativer Ringe''. He is a professor at the University of Wuppertal. Borho does research on representation theory, Lie algebras, ring theory and also on number theory ( amicable numbers) and tilings. Biography He spent his youth in Heidelberg, where he passed the ''Abitur'' examination in 1980 at the .
