Jenn Horgan
Jennifer Wylie (born August 1, 1984) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. Career Juniors Wylie was born in Sudbury, Ontario. She is the 2005 Northern Ontario junior champion. In 2005, Wylie skipped the Northern Ontario team, but did not throw last stones. Instead, her sister Tracy Fleury did. At the 2005 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Wylie and her team finished with a 7-5 record, just out of the playoffs. 2008–2013 In 2008, Wylie's team graduated to the women's level, and the team qualified for the 2008 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The team finished with a 3-6 record. Wylie's rink qualified for the 2009 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, having lost to Krista McCarville in the Northern Ontario final, which was good enough to qualify. 2017 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials
The 2017 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials (branded as the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings for sponsorship reasons) were held from December 2 to 10 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ottawa, Ontario. The winners of the men's and women's events would represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics. The women's final was won by Team Rachel Homan in front of her home town crowd. She defeated Team Chelsea Carey 6–5, after Carey missed a pivotal double takeout on her last shot of the 10th end. The men's final was won by Team Kevin Koe from Alberta. He defeated Team Mike McEwen 7–6, drawing to the button for one on the last stone of the 10th end. Rachel Homan
Rachel Catherine Homan (born April 5, 1989) is a Canadian international curler. Homan is a former Canadian junior champion, a three-time Canadian national champion, and the 2017 world champion, all as a skip. She was also the skip of the Canadian women's curling team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. During her junior career, Homan competed in two Canadian Junior Curling Championships, placing second in 2009 and winning the championship in 2010. She also won a silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships. Throughout her women's career, Homan has medalled at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championships, seven times, winning gold three times (2013, 2014, and 2017), silver three times (2019, 2020, and 2021), and bronze once (2015). 2014 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2014 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Ontario, was held from January 6 to 12 at the Soo Curlers Association in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The winning team represented Ontario at the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal. The event marked the final tournament to include teams from Northern Ontario, which began to have its own entry into the Scotties beginning in 2015. Qualification Process Ten teams qualify for the provincial tournament through several methods. Four teams qualified from Northern Ontario, two teams qualified from Regions 1 and 2, two teams qualified from regions 3 and 4 and two teams qualified from the Challenge Round. Laura Crocker
Laura Walker (born November 19, 1990 as Laura Crocker) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She is a two-time Canadian University champion, a national junior champion, world junior silver medallist and world mixed doubles bronze medallist. Walker is originally from Scarborough, Ontario. Career Juniors Walker began her junior curling career as a skip. In 2008, her Scarboro Golf & Country Club rink made it to the provincial junior championships where her team finished with a 2–5 record. In 2010, Walker was invited to join the Rachel Homan junior rink at the second position. The team's regular second, Alison Kreviazuk, was too old to play in juniors that season (but played with the team in World Curling Tour events). Shannon Kleibrink
Shannon Kleibrink (born October 7, 1968 in Norquay, Saskatchewan) is a retired Canadian curler from Okotoks, Alberta. She and her team of third Amy Nixon, second Glenys Bakker, lead Christine Keshen and alternate Sandra Jenkins represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. They won a bronze medal. Career As a junior curler, Kleibrink lost in the final of the 1987 junior provincial championships, and in the Alberta final to qualify for the Canada Winter Games, both to LaDawn Funk. After losing in the final of the 1991 Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts, Kleibrink won the 1993 provincial title, defeating Funk in the final. This qualified her to represent Alberta at the 1993 Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national curling championship. There, her team of Sandra Jenkins, Sally Shigehiro and Joanne Wright finished 6-5. Renée Sonnenberg
Renée Sonnenberg (born Renée Handfield March 22, 1971) is a Canadian curler from Grande Prairie, Alberta. Curling career Sonnenberg had a fairly successful junior career, having won two provincial junior titles in 1989 and 1990. She placed third at the 1989 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the 1990 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, her team finished 4–6, out of the playoffs. In 2001, Sonnenberg won the provincial mixed title, playing third for Kurt Balderston. Valerie Sweeting (born July 9, 1987 in Redvers, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Lottie Lake, Alberta She currently plays third for Team Kerri Einarson. The qualification event for the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials (branded as the Capital One Road to the Roar for sponsorship reasons), was held from November 5 to 10 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex in Kitchener, Ontario. The top two finishers of the men's and women's events qualified to participate in the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. Mirjam Ott
Mirjam Ott (born 27 January 1972 in Bern, Switzerland) is a retired Swiss curler who lives in Laax, Switzerland. She is the 2012 World Curling Champion skip. She is the skip (captain) of the Swiss Olympic Curling Team. She has participated in several Olympic Games contests and has won numerous awards in many other curling events worldwide. Career Ott won the Olympic silver medal twice; in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (with skip Luzia Ebnöther) and 2006 in Turin (as skip herself), making her the first woman with two Olympic medals in curling.
