Jega (musician)
Jega is the recording name of the Manchester-based electronic music artist, Dylan Nathan. Jega has released records on the Planet Mu, Matador and Skam record labels. Career Jega released his first EP in 1996 in Manchester on Skam records. His first LP, ''Spectrum'', was the first release on Mike Paradinas/µ-Ziq's Planet Mu label. Paradinas and Jega studied architecture together in London 1991–1994 on the same campus as Aphex Twin. ''Spectrum'' is a fusion of the breakbeat and intelligent dance music sound coming out of London at the time. His second album, ''Geometry'', reflects his electronic roots, avoiding samples and venturing more into synthesis. Jega was named by Thom Yorke as an influence on Radiohead's 2000 album ''Kid A''. Both ''Spectrum'' and ''Geometry'' were later licensed to Matador Records for release in North America, resulting in extensive tours of the United States. Japanese Enhanced Graphics Adapter
AX (Architecture eXtended) was a Japanese computing initiative starting in around 1986 to allow PCs to handle double-byte (DBCS) Japanese text via special hardware chips, whilst allowing compatibility with software written for foreign IBM PCs. The idea was conceived by Kazuhiko Nishi before he resigned his position as vice president of Microsoft. Microsoft Japan took over the project, and in July 1987 the Preparatory Committee of the AX Consortium started developing its specification. The AX Consortium officially started in October 1987, including ASCII Corporation, Sony, Hitachi, Sharp, Oki, Casio, Canon, Kyocera, Sanyo, Mitsubishi Electric, etc., but notably excluding Toshiba and Fujitsu (who were hence the 'opposition'). At that time, NEC PC-9801 was the dominant PC architecture in the Japanese PC market because IBM PC/AT and its clone PCs could not display Japanese text. Attahiru Jega
Attahiru Muhammadu Jega (born 11 January 1957) is a Nigerian academic and former Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano. On 8 June 2010, he was nominated by then President Goodluck Jonathan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), subject to Senate confirmation, as a replacement for Professor Maurice Iwu, who vacated the post on 28 April 2010. Jega was the only INEC chairman to oversee two Nigerian General Elections (2011 and 2015). Jega retired on 30 June 2015, handing over his position to Amina Zakari according to a directive by President Muhammadu Buhari. Jaega
The Jaega (also Jega, Xega, Jaece, Geiga) were Native Americans living in a chiefdom of the same name, which included the coastal parts of present-day Martin County and northern Palm Beach County, Florida at the time of initial European contact, and until the 18th century. The area occupied by the Jaega corresponds to the East Okeechobee Area, an archaeological culture that is part of, or closely related to, the Belle Glade culture.
